can back data be manually inputed to my Encore software
can back data be manually inputed to my Encore software
I started CPAP on 3/27. Before I got the software and reader I had one visit to my doctor which when they read and printed their report and erased my first 3 weeks data. now that i have the software is there a way to input the hard copy report/stats I have to fill in the gap and allow me to track my data since day one?
Not really a big deal but I thought mihgt be nice to have the entire history on the computer since we are only missing 3 weeks...
thanks for any ideas...

My understanding is that it is not. The Respironics data is stored on the data card, whereas the Resmed data is stored in the machine and just transferred via the data card.
I've played around w/EncorePro but am not all that familiar w/it. I haven't found a way to import previous data to Resmed's AutoScan software, so I am assuming it can't be done.

I'm sure that most all of the versions of Encore Pro have a place where you can input "Compliance" information.....as in, if a patient calls into his DME/RT/Doctor and reports that information.....it can be manually entered.
I'm sure that's not what you were referring to though.....was it?

A Trick that might work
The Dr. had to input the data into his system and should have that stored --- UNLESS you are a deleted patient... He should give you a .XML file from his copy of Encore Pro === It's a patien record and you have the RIGHT to a copy!!!
Then you can IMPORT this COMPLETE data into your software!!!

There's definitely no way to manually type the data into EncorePro. I've seen the data tables and there's too much data on too many tables. Plus there's no way you could get the required data from your doctor. I promise they can't look at the background tables.
However, I agree with Bert - ask your doctor to Export your patient file.
To do this they have to be in your patient record and then it's on the left side menu listed under "Other Tools". You might want to take a screen print of the EncorePro patient screen so you can show them where it is.
When they do the export it will appear that EncorePro is locked up and not responding. Make them wait - it will come back. I think it looks locked up because the exported file is pretty big.
You also should take a USB storage device (aka flash drive) with you for them to put the file on. My file is 108 MB Make sure you get a drive that's big enough to hold plenty of data. I would get one that's at least one gig. If you don't know what a USB storage device is, here's a link to an example: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... 2653260124
Once you have the xml file, take it home and do "Import Encore File". That's on the left side menu listed under "Other Tools" just above the "Export" command.
I haven't done an import myself so I don't know how it works. I'm hoping it will be pretty straightforward.
Good luck!

I would argue that its because of poor software design Using a simple software thread would have solved that lockup problem in the UI.SleepySandy wrote: I think it looks locked up because the exported file is pretty big.
Another option (if you have a small drive) is to zip the export file before putting it on the USB drive. XML text files compress very very well. Infact if they compress it should be small enough for them to email it to you.SleepySandy wrote:Make sure you get a drive that's big enough to hold plenty of data.
Neat!! Thanks, Sandy and James! You realize, of course, that I "will" have to try that w/the Resmed AutoScan. Ah, my sleep lab is gonna be sooooo sorry I found this forum (if they aren't already ) Its a good thing they are so good natured there!

That's fair and I agree it's poor software design - software shouldn't appear locked when it's actually doing something. I just didn't want to disparage EncorePro too much in this particular thread.jskinner wrote:SleepySandy wrote:I think it looks locked up because the exported file is pretty big.

I did not know this and you're quite right. I zipped mine and it went from 108MB to 2.5MBjskinner wrote:Another option (if you have a small drive) is to zip the export file before putting it on the USB drive.
