If you register and fill out your profile info ... someone will be able to answer your questions ... we can't help you out unless we know what equipment you have, what kind of sleep lab study you had, what your titrated pressure is, etc.

ResMed does not make a pro ... I guess you mean Remstar?

If it is a Remstar M series ... you may be able to get some basic efficay data from the LED .... otherwise ... yes, you will need to software to monitor your treatment.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

This is what you need:

By the way, your Pro 2 is made by Respironics (REMstar).....not ResMed. I have one (my first CPAP) and it's a great machine. I still use it frequently.

Best wishes,

I'm also new at this and have spent the last week or so looking into the software and smartcard reader issue. Here's my quick takes: (corrections welcome):

Assuming you have a Respironics machine, you need the Encore Pro software from Cpap.com. The current shipping version is 1.8i which is compatible with Windows Vista so it should work for awhile. Encore Pro is intended to be used by sleep labs and DMEs and consumer-level help is not available. Fortunately, many people on this board have experience with it and can help with questions.

There is also an add-on program, Encore Pro Analyzer, that provides additional graphical analysis. The program is offered by James Skinner, a member of this board and can be requested here:
http://james.istop.com/EncoreProAnalyzer/

The most frustrating piece of this whole data analysis for me is getting the correct smartcard reader. To cut to the chase, there is only one reader that will work with Encore Pro, the Infineer DT-3500 made by Mako Technologies. If you Google 'smartcard readers' or look on ebay you can find readers as low as $14 delivered (I know, I bought one before I learned the "truth"), but only the Mako unit will work. This is because, unlike USB flash drives, you don't use a generic Windows driver, but a specific one for each unit and Encore Pro specifies the Mako reader.

The good news is that there is a few places to buy the Mako reader. Our friends at Cpap.com offer it for around $83 when purchased in a bundle with the software.
OR
You can also by it for $42 here:
http://www.cpapusa.com/item.php?tab=pro ... ode=DT3500
OR
you can order direct from Mako's web storefront in Hong Kong for $31.80 delivered here http://www.two-factor.com/shop/ . The downside, as I have read here, is that delivery can take from 3-4 weeks.

After you get the software and the reader, you still need to install things in a certain manner to get it to work. Search the forum and you'll find discussions of this. My understanding is that you should install the software first and then plug in the reader and use the driver that is on the Encore Pro disk rather than the one that comes with the reader.

I hope this helps. To others; it isn't my intention to direct business away from CPAP.com. They offer efficient service and support for their customers; I just wanted to document what I've learned in my week plus of Google searching on this topic.
