Sleeping facedown and downhill

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I need an idea evaluated. Whan getting a message, I have my head, face down, in a support that extends off the message table and has a padded hole for the face. There's also an armrest below the table top. I find that comfortable and that's unusual because I can't optherwise rest on my stomach. Seems to me that there is no way for mu tongue to prolapse and obstruct breathing in this position. Is this wrong? Also seems that, if such an arrangement could angle the bed downward (head lower than the feet), the effect would be aided.

is there any research on this?

Try re-posting this on the CPAP and sleep apnia forum you may get a better response. You can find this in the" jump to:" window in the lower right corner.

It would be interesting to know if there has been a study regarding relative OSA severity and sleep position including on the stomach.
