>>"I also know a number of people whose cpap works so well for them they >>>have never had a need to visit a forum like this. " True, but my point was that there are more people here using cpap successfully and posting, than not. I am a bit jaded as I did not have success, but the folks here were a ...

Dear Muckie. [would be nice to have a name.......smiles] My sleep doc and the DME are all pretty well meaning, I think, but it is a bit of a bueracracy-you have the Dr and his staff, the floating dme, and to top it off the insurance co. who is like a silent partner with a whole other set of rules an...

>I've often wondered that also, wader. My hunch is that quite a few could. >Too bad that people can't easily try many different machines (with data >reporting capability) at home, a week at a time. HI. I've posted periodically, saying that I am not getting any benefits from my cpap. I saw the sleep ...

I am in my 6 or 7th week, , and have had very little if any improvement. At first I was exhausted from not sleeping at all, and then gradually got used to the apparatus. Now I am back to where I was when I started. Sigh. Saw sleepdoc and he says to hang in there. He lowered my pressure. I do wish I ...

Haven't read the board for awhile. Saw sleepdoc and he said to hang in there some more. I am in week five of cpap. I am not totally exhausted like I was in the first weeks. But I am still waking up tired, so have not had the big rest like some experience. What I do find encouraging about this thread...

Thank you all for your kind a thoughtful advice. I love message boards, and am a message board "icon" on AOL's ask a contractor message boards. Smile. I see the sleep doc and the tech next week. >>Have you been snoring, can someone check on you >>>>>>>while you have the cpap on and are asleep? Dear Pro. I am single and live alone. So, only the cats to check on my breathing. The saga continues....
Hello! I am in week 4 of my new cpap experience. To date it has not worked for me. My mask fits well, with an occasional leak but nothing drastic. I believe my pressure is at ten, for a mild apnea. I am wearing the mask all night most nights, unless I am not sleeping at all and pull it off for a cou...

Sleep, beautiful Sleep.
Hi, Judith. I am on day 16. Last night was the first night I actually slept through the night with the mask on. The bridge of my nose is sore, too. I had only made it through one night, all night with the mask previously, but didn't sleep at all. I am still kind of tired, but was told I have a lot o...

The Few, The Proud, The CPAPs!
Judith. I am on day 8 and am having the same dilemma. Little or no sleep, and just trying to endure IT as long as I can. So far I go four to six hours and then shut THE THING down and "sleep" for a couple of hours. But the carrot for me is getting some energy back, and waking up rested. All these ni...

I have a Fisher Paykel HC221LE with a pressure set at 10. Not sure what the ramp starts at. I don't use it. The air pressure doesn't bother me at all, in fact, it really clears my nose out and helps me breath deeper. So I don't mind starting out at the full pressure. I have a Resperonics Comfort sel...

PessiOptimistically Tired
Bill, I am on day 8 withThe Thing. I am averaging 4-6 hours of wearing IT, though last night I wore IT only two hours. I must say I thought I was waking up tired before, but now know what it truly means to be exhausted upon awakening. I have a mild apnea. Afternoon sleepiness is overwhelming. From w...
