Waking up when CPAP Machine shut off without warning!!!!

Post by Snuffle-nose » Wed Oct 27, 2004 6:48 pm

Hi People

What a experince I have a S6 elite and it has a smart start device. Recently I had the machine shut off on me whist I was sleep with my mask on! What a way to wake up! Nothing beats instant suffocation!!!!

The smart start/stop device is to shut the maching off when you are not wearing your mask. Plus it will start automaticly when you put your maks back on again.

But when it mulfuctions it is a pain in the neck! As it's dreadful feeling waking up and catching it shutting off on you, but since it's rental the good part if it is mulfuctioning badly they will change your machine with another one whist that one gets repaired.

Plus the pressure is not at my usual 8cms HO I have caught go up to 10 cmsho which is higher then my usual pressure. My CPAP is not Bi-PAP doesn't change pressure any old how, As for my CPAP I think it's a bit busted!!!!

But I still sleep okay with the CPAP which is good.
Been on CPAP for a while.....I had moderate apenoa

Snuffle,

Glad to hear that you are able to continue using the cpap while your rental is being repaired. How long will it take to get your machine back?

Regards,
