Glad we all can help you out Bobby. Don't give up on wearing your CPAP. Once when I didn't wear it and had little sleep later on in the day I became disoriented and nearly lost my balance and fell down. It's not worth suffering the physical effects that come from not wearing your CPAP. I mean who really cares what you look like wearing it. Your health is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!

It takes roughly 3 days to get over oxygen desaturation. So think of not using the cpap as roughly a 3 day hangover. Yikes!!!

cpap for naps

Post by rested gal » Fri Oct 29, 2004 10:38 am

frequentfliertx's and Titrator's posts reminded me of something. It's important to use the cpap for naps, too, no matter how brief one expects the nap to be.

Sleep is sleep and apnea is apnea, whether it's bedtime - or a siesta at two in the afternoon. Fortunately now that I get such good therapy each night, I rarely feel the need for a nap. But if I do nap, I always use the machine/mask. I kinda' like to breathe - even during a nap.
