Sorry I read into your question. I think I got defensive because I kind of regretted mentioning my education in that post. I don’t want to come across as a know-it-all!
Those willing to learn are welcome. We already have over our quota of know-it-alls. ;)

I think it would be an excellent subject for continuing education.

There have been many cases here, and at this moment, I remember one case in particular. The guy had been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. He spent more than a year with a mental health counselor and a psychiatrist. They fed him Prozac and other antidepressants. None of them helped - only horrible side effects.

Somehow, he stumbled into a sleep lab and was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea. He fired the counselor and psychiatrist and started using CPAP. He was better in a few months although a bit bitter about what he went through with the professionals. He began to advocate required screening with a sleep doc before any initial visit to a counselor or psychiatrist.

Don't worry about it. The snark sometimes runs deep here. I've dished out my share.

BTW, how did you find this site? Are you a CPAP user?

I hate that he is now left with a negative impression of mental health professionals. Mind, body and spirit are all in play in any health issue, mental or physical, and it is naive to think that you can address only one aspect regarding any given issue.

Yes, since January. Every question I googled after my home sleep study in December was discussed in this forum, so I have been reading for awhile. I have only occasionally commented on posts--only when I felt I had something to add, so not enough for anybody to know who I am.

Good point, because very frequently, someone leading off with their 'credentials' is someone best ignored.

It’s so obnoxious! I tried to go back and edit it, but I was too late 😏.

You can (or should be able to) go back and edit any of your own posts, just hit the pencil in the upper right corner.

Oh, and for what it's worth, the person you went off on... was a total moron... I remember the username, with distaste. Always popping off with bullshit.

I doubt it is too late. I can still edit my post from yesterday.
I have found the new forum software does not always keep me logged in. Obviously, you cannot edit the post if not logged in,

That nonsense about nightmares was certainly a load of bs! It's likely everybody on here is smart enough to believe it's not true anyway, but it got my blood boiling and my fingers flying. And you just never know how many people are reading these posts and who might take it as truth, because "it was on the internet" :-(

Well, I'll be darned -- I must have gotten logged out and that's why the pencil wasn't there! Thanks!

I read it when it was first posted. It didn't make me mad, but I did have a nightmare that night about a spider on my face.

Well, fortunately that is the machine I have :-) DreamStation, take me away ...!

CPAP adventure dreams ... interesting concept ... I'm the Queen of the Time-delayed Snappy Comeback, so not clever enough to come up with one, but surely somebody has had a good one!

I must be the King but I find the time-delay gets longer with age :(
