I am not up to speed on the issues here, but a few months ago I got a machine and joined this forum and another apnea forum. The F & P Pillarno has only 1 thin strap. It is a really nice mask. My favorite by far. They can turn it back on remotely I think.
If it gets unplugged or the power goes off it turns the modem back on.

Another way would have been to buy a used one for a few hundred off Craigs List, and then go through your insurance when you get back home.

For drinking water, you might consider getting re-mineralizing drops. They puts back all the minerals your body usually gets from regular water. I get little bottles of it from my local health food store. They are cheap and last forever.
