My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
Mine has a little 'drain hole' under the aluminum plate, in the right rear corner (outside the APAP unit).
When I wash it, I get water in that hole and it fogs the inside of the chamber under the plate.
It seemed like a nice breeding ground for bacteria, so I quit immersing it to clean it.
I take it your tanks are letting water get under the plate, so it runs right out the hole in the bottom?
Or the drain hole is an update, designed to make sure all leaks are external to the machine?

Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
I have an auto sense 10 and the humidity chamber started leaking after 5 months. It was leaking at the seam where the two halves are sonic welded together. It was fine one night, the next it was dripping. DME said insurance only covers the tank every 6 months, so I paid out of pocket for a new one and then a month later I had insurance pay for one as a back up. I had them order the dishwasher safe model for my spare. It appears identical to the standard one other than the color of the tab. The DME said it was the first time they had heard of one leaking.
Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
I have the same problem. I am now on my second water tank. And it's leaking too. Bad design. I always check the water level and ensure I don't overfill and put it into the machine properly. I thought it was at least covered under the extended warranty I purchased, but it's not considered part of the machine, and they are not inexpensive to replace. I can't see why they would consider it to be a consumable. I am very disappointed.

Expensive?
I buy anything I have to pay for out of pocket at cpap.com.
DME prices are ridiculous!

Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
This is a continual problem if the humidifier is turned on. I have been through 6 resevoirs since 2015 and it could have been 20 since I glue or seal the seam often to try to stop the leakage. Nothing lasts. The supplier has replace the bipap once which was comically stupid. I have worked on electronic equipment of all kinds, and this kind of failure is simply bad design or bad manufacturing process.
I have been a bipap user since 2000 and all have been respironics or successor products. The original is the only one that I would deem to be even a marginal product. Those early ones used a humidifier tank separate from the unit which was a pain due to space used, but they did not leak. Given my experiences with 8-10 suppliers I think most of them are clueless and have earned the right to be out of business. Only my first supplier was responsive and knowledgeable.
I urge everyone to refuse to use the ResMed product.

Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
I have been using the same two tanks since I got my Airsense 10 in October, 2014.
Your problen is unusual, to say the least. I only use the washable tank, if that makes a difference.

My understanding is that the AirSense 10 has a rubber seal as pert of the machine. The seal is not on the chamber. I know several people who found success by changing that machine seal, and a few people simply removed the seal and the leak stopped. Strange. ResMed should have left the seal on the chamber so that replacing the chamber replaces the seal.
This seal issue is one of the three reasons I stayed with the S9 and refused a free "upgrade" to the S10.

The water tub on the Airsense 10 does have a seal which can be removed for cleaning.

Did not see that on the one I examined when it was first released and Apria told me they had issues with the seal attached to the machine.

It's there. I have a tank just like it. Here is the manual and the picture is on page 24. https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdfPhysician wrote:OkyDoky wrote:Physician wrote: My understanding is that the AirSense 10 has a rubber seal as pert of the machine. Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
I didn't know that the tank could develop a leak. If anyone wants to try to seal one that is seeping at the metal/plastic seam, I recommend Plumping Goop. I would think that smearing a bead of the stuff over the joint (and giving it time to dry) would permanently fix any leak.
Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
Doctor wants me to get an autoset cpap over the basic S9 I have now and luckily it has been over 5 years so I hope insurance will pay for it. Was looking at the airsense and several people were saying it was a good one to get. My question is how big of an issue is this leaking? Is there anything I can do to see if my tank is going to leak? If I get a new machine and it starts to leak not long after getting it I would think I could get them to replace it free.

Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
It's not very common. We have a large number of forum members using various AirSense/AirCurve machines who have never had a leak problem.bmanley wrote: My question is how big of an issue is this leaking? But if you do get a water chamber that leaks it would be covered under the warranty.
