Re: Full Face Mask worst option according to professionals?

I se a FFM due to sinus problems. I was originally provided a nasal pillow but couldn't use it due to my sinuses. I have had a couple of sinus surgeries which help with the sinus breathing but still use the FFM. While I do experience some leakage around the mask as I am settling in, apparently it's ...

Re: Nasal Congestion --- Sinusitis and Nasal Polyps

I've had sinus problems for years and a ouple operations for it. It can help but you will still need your CPAP. Polyps are a serious issue that ypu should keep on top of, not much you can do other than get the operation to clear them out. I do sinus rinses regularly which can help keep them at bay. ...

Types of Apneas

I have the app on myy phone "Dreammapper" which before anyone starts on their opinion of it, is the one the Veterans Administration pushes me to get. It's not necessarily the one I get to choose. My question is this: In the app it lists under my AHI readings three different catagories. "Clear Apneas...

Re: Coughing Fit with CPAP?

I suppose it might be possible for the machine to misinterpret the breathing that is going on in and around a coughing spell. I think it would be more likely to be irregular breathing getting a flag than the cough itself though. Remember the AHI is composed of "events" that need to last at least 10...

Re: ATTN: Chinese spammer dude

A traffic jam in the country? Two cars and a tractor. Gotta love country folk, when it has a big snow fall, the neighbors with big tractors seem to be in a race to see who can get to the driveways of those in need first. No I don't lock my doors, yes most folks leave the keys in the ignition of thei...

Coughing Fit with CPAP?

I am curious if anyone knows whether having a coughing fit while wearing the CPAP would impact you AHI numbers?

Re: ATTN: Chinese spammer dude

Blocking the IP address is probably the easist for you to do and most effective without going into a great deal of work and have a lot of computer savey. When it comes to these guys often it's a sport and so just deleting them becomes a challenge. They also use it as practice for more serious hackin...

Re: new battery technology for CPAP during blackout?

Great information here. However I am a bit lost when folks start talking numbers and such. While a bit of an electronics dunce, I am decent with math so if someone was kind enough to give some basic definitions and then formulas for figuring the usage limits power draws and such for batteries so tha...

Re: Sinus drainage and sneezing

I do my own mixture for my rinses. I use non-iodized salt and baking soda. Depending upon your needs the ratio can vary some from a 1:1 to 1:3 ratios. I was going to suggest making your own but I would use distilled rather than tap water. I do use distilled water exclusively. We have our own water ...

Re: Sinus drainage and sneezing

I've had sinus issues for over 20 years and gone through two sinus operations. I'm perscribed sinus speays but aw you say it's kind of a pain and they taste awful. I hate waking up all congested. I do the sinus rinses/flushes and they help.

Re: OSA and work (Railrod and Pilots)

no leakage to speak of, 99%-100%. Where do you get those numbers? I thought all machines reported leak in lpm (liters per minute). Mine does. upper single digits for my AHI You mean 8 or 9? I would feel very bad at that level. My AHI averages 1 or under. At 3 or higher, I suffer. I think you can ma...
