Re: Struggling with N20 nasal mask and pressure
I finally got into my settings and found that my S9 was set at 10-15 with a ramp of 9. I changed it to 11-15 and turned off the ramp and now I can fall asleep with the N20. I would not have thought that a difference of 2 with a different type of mask would make that much of a difference for me, but ...

Struggling with N20 nasal mask and pressure
I've been using an APAP for over a decade. My home machine is an S9 AutoSet and I use the Swift FX, which I pretty much love for my mask. I always wanted to use nasal pillows and they generally work very well for me. (Back in the first year when I had met my deductible and insurance was covering sup...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions
Would anyone with a Mini in hand be willing to download a sound/decibel meter to their phone and measure the Mini and mask compared to their current machine/mask please? While 'Darth Vader' is descriptive, it is also subjective and I am now holding off on ordering because of these noise reports, whi...

Repair vs buying a new (or slightly used) machine
I have a ResMed S8 AutoSet II that is practically 4 years old with almost 10,000 hours. Over the past week, it has started making this noise on and off (e.g. it was fine the past 3 nights, but then it started the noise again this morning after I took the mask off and the machine was airing itself ou...

Re: Getting Rescan 3.10 to Run on a Mac?
I use BootCamp. Since that is free, you might just want to try that first. Yes, you have to reboot, but it take about all of 60 seconds. I do most everything on the Mac side, except for ResScan and a couple of games on the Windows side. I go back and forth between the sides at least once/day, primar...

Re: How do I get a data cable for my Resmed S8 AutoSet II
Any difference in the amount or variety of data you can get from the card as opposed to the data cable? I cannot remember about days of summary data offhand, but with the card, you can download 5 days of full data only. I think if you do the cable, you can get 10. I want to say that with summary da...

Re: Having Trouble Adapting to CPAP
Is it that you feel like when you are inhaling, not enough air is coming in or is it when you are exhaling, it is too difficult to exhale? If the first, I would say your pressure needs to be higher. I have an APAP and when I started, they set the low end at 6 and I told my doctor it was hard to get ...

Re: CPAP Addiction
One of these defense mechanisms is a significant increase in hematocrit levels ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hematocrit ). Interesting. I have a blood test from one year ago, before I started CPAP, and my hematocrit was 53.5%. I had another test in June, ~4 months after I started CPAP, and it was ...

Re: Containers to transport distilled water?
In my first 6 months, I travelled with mine and used tap water in: DC 1 night Tokyo 7 nights DC 2 nights Bay Area 3 nights Buffalo 3 nights New England 4 nights Chicago 5 nights 25 nights around the world in 6 months and finally at the end I noticed a few small brown stains in my chamber (specifical...

Thanks. I thought they looked like they might break, so I wanted to check before I tried anything. I will try the vinegar.

HumidAire 4i disassembly for cleaning?
I have been doing therapy for 6 months. I always use distilled water in my humidfier, except when I travel (about 24 days out of the past 6 months). Since it has been 6 months, I am eligible for a new mask and the first night I tried it out, I decided to increase the humidity level. Previously my hu...

Re: Autoset II data retention.
* ResScan Data Card: 180 sessions of summary data, five sessions of detailed data. That is what the card holds, not what the machine holds. There are a higher number of sessions listed if you hook the machine directly up to a computer with the special adapter. I am pretty sure it was 10 detailed an...

Re: take off mask in middle of the night
But I didn't hit the start button on my machine. I just went to sleep with the machine off. And I will tell you, it is hard to breath through nasal pillows with the machine off. I kept waking up and taking huge, deep breaths through my nose trying to suck air against the resistance. You might want ...
