Re: Chinese torture
I’ve been using CPAP now for 18 years. I’m 6 ft tall, 190 lbs. prior to my diagnosis, I suffered from severe headaches for years due to lack of deep sleep because of my Apnea. The CPAP machine made a tremendous positive change for me. My energy improved, dark circles under my eyes left and the heada...

Re: Oral Masks vs Nasal
I have similar issues with nasal passage swelling and have been using the CPAP for over 15 years. I’ve been planning to have the turbinate reduction for a while as a solution. According to the ENT, if Afrin eliminates your symptoms then the turbinate reduction might be a very good solution. I have c...

Re: frustration
Thank you, that is great to hear. On the CPAP side, I sleep like a baby with it. First 3 to 4 months was a struggle with the hose. Now, I can't imagine sleeping with out it.

Re: frustration
Cleveland George, can you tell me about the turbinate reduction. I need to have this done but I am very paranoid that I will not be able to breath at all as I use CPAP with nasal pillows. Did the turbinate reduction require nasal packing? If yes, were you able to use your CPAP?

Re: Dental Device to treat both TMJ And Sleep Apnea
I use a CPAP Resmed S9 and can't imagine sleeping without it. Have been using it for 15 years. Prior to my diagnosis, I suffered from severe headaches from lack of sleep. My wife went to her dentist who fitted her with a mouth guard that allows her to adjust over time. For her, this worked very well...

ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions
Levman, looking to hear your verdict on the noise after a night's sleep. I travel with the S9 and would love to swap for the smaller size. Thanks

Re: any atypical apnea patients out there?
I have been where you are. Ten years on the CPAP now. 4 years ago I had the surgery to remove my tonsils, palate reduced and back of tongue reduced to increase my airway. Didn't work and it brought on other swallowing complications the areas scarred so tight that I now have swallowing issues. The re...

Re: Where to Begin
I have now been on CPAP for 10 years. My biggest fear is forgetting it or some part of it when traveling. I have used several machines and my favorite is the Resmed S9 machine. Very quiet and has all the features you need, including the climate hose. I too suffer from congestion most days and have f...

Re: Time for a new machine
I will pile on for the ResMed S9 as I have had three prior machines and this is the quietest machine I have ever used. Size for travel is okay. It easily slips in my backpack. A little more costly than most, but has been well worth it.

HME waterless humidifier
I have been a CPAP user for over 10 years and have always used a humidifier. In reading about the new Z1 machine, they provide humidity through this "waterless humidifier". Is anyone familiar with this process for adding humidity? I like the idea of smaller size machine and not carrying the addl hum...
