I need to whine...
My new Airsense machine is lovely and I love all the bells and whistles and it's everything I ever wanted from a cpap machine. Almost. The humidifier chamber is so small that sometimes I have to refill it in the middle of the night. If I turn down the humidity, my nose and throat end up burning. May...

Pugsy, you're brilliant, as usual. Thanks for pointing me to the Fit Packs. I guess the mask is getting put away a while.

Re: Brand new S/M Pico nasal mask - make me an offer
Wait, are you saying that I could just trade the cushion with someone who needs a small? I didn't even realize until just now that I could remove the cushion as I didn't know about the Fit Pack. Well, in that case, I'll hold onto it a while rather than give up on the whole thing. Although, I'm not s...

When I pre-ordered it, the Fit Pack wasn't yet on the website.

Re: Brand new S/M Pico nasal mask - make me an offer
Pugsy, a trade is a great idea. I would happily trade it for a new-ish Wisp or a size large Pico. Both of which I want to try.

Re: Brand new S/M Pico nasal mask - make me an offer
how can they sleep at night calling something that huge "pico"? well, maybe they're not using it in the international measurement way (used in units of measurement) denoting a factor of 10−12. and instead on the spanish origin way, from Spanish pico , literally ‘beak, peak, little bit.’ "here, this...

Re: Brand new S/M Pico nasal mask - make me an offer
Bump
I'll entertain any offer really. It's just sitting in the box it came in. Surely *someone* wants to try it out for cheap. Really cheap. C'mon.
FWIW, it's otherwise really comfortable and minimalistic. Just needs to go to someone slightly more petite than me. I've got a man's nose, I guess.

Brand new S/M Pico nasal mask - make me an offer
I pre-ordered the new Pico nasal mask, it got here and was WAY too small. I tried wearing it for about 10 minutes and was miserable. Then I forgot to return it until it was too late. Anyone want to try it at a deep discount? It cost $109. Make me an offer, please.

Re: i smother on my cpap
fact is, even at 4cm of pressure, there's plenty of air, nobody is going to smother at that level, otherwise the lawyers wouldn't let the manufacturers sell the machines, for fear of huge lawsuit payouts. Quite a few people feel like they're not getting enough air at 4. I used to be puzzled by this...

Re: i smother on my cpap
The OP offered many words with no actual information. S/he also seems to be referring to different things, insomnia and sleep apnea and treating them as one and the same. S/he provided no information about what went wrong with the dozens of "types" of masks s/he tried but it should be fairly obvious...

Re: i smother on my cpap
While I agree with RobySue in general, I also agree with Blackspinner's advice. OP sounds like a hypochondriac who needs a shrink, not more surgeries, doctors or sleep studies.

Re: Acupuncture to treat sleep apnea? Has anyone tried?
And, to be clear, I don't mean any of that in a derogatory way. I mean that it saddens me that desperate people will fall for this nonsense.
Back to that study, it was simply randomized, not double-blind. To me the results are basically meaningless. YMMV

Re: Acupuncture to treat sleep apnea? Has anyone tried?
I misread. I'm still unimpressed. Eleven subjects is nothing to write home about. At best, it warrants further study, not publication. There was no followup to see if the treatment lasted for any significant length of time. Acupuncture has never been proven to *cure* anything. There is little eviden...
