Re: Arizona sleep dr

If you are near the Phoenix area, you might try Dr. Leonard Moss and is the Medical Director at Neuro Diagnostic Sleep Centers. 602-424-4450. http://www.neurodiagnosticlabs.com. He is board certified in Sleep Medicine and took a genuine interest in me. He oversaw my Sleep study and was willing to pr...

Re: best pillow for side sleeper

I am a side sleeper with a nasal mask. I just purchased a buckwheat queen size from "72 Beans" thru Amazon in mid April. It is a lot of pillow and very heavy but so far I love it. The quality is really solid. I feel cooler and find myself switching positions a lot less then my down pillow. My leak r...

Re: Obesity, Colon Bacteria, Inflammation, Granny Smith Apples

A few spoonfuls of Metamucil a day will help keep your colon happy. Plus if you can choke that down first thing in the morning, anything else you have to face that day should be easy.

Re: SleepWeaver mask - any thoughts?

I have the Elan. I switch off between that and the Resmed Mirage FX. I find it to be comfortable and very light on my face. It is well made and very compact for travel. I have had some soreness right under my nose which I have alleviated by using some moleskin as extra padding. It feels like blowing...

Re: Newbie prescribed APAP w/ pressure 6-17. Machines?

I am pretty new at the whole CPAP lifestyle as well. My advise to you is that you do a lot of reading on this forum and educate yourself rather than simply trust what the Doctor or DME tell you. What I have learned here saved me from a disastrous start and possible early termination (of both CPAP th...

Re: got my first machine today

I'm a new user and I have a goatee. I would switch my mask before I shaved off my goatee. I use a nasal mask. I switch between the ResMed Mirage FX and the Circadiance Elan. While they work for me, doesn't mean they will work for you. Don't settle for a mask that doesn't work. Keep looking for one t...

Re: Clicking in Airsense / Aircurve 10?

I haven't noticed that at all. Sorry to hear you are experiencing it. Like Palerider mentioned, I had a clicking type noise in my hose from rain out before I switched to a heated hose. I hope you get to the root of it quickly. Like a ticking clock, once you hear it , it is hard to ignore.

I've been using mine since Jan 7th and have had no problems. DME translation may be " You don't want that Mercedes Benz - but I can sell you this Ford for the same price.

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

I will have been on CPAP for one month tomorrow. I can't believe how well it has gone. I am sleeping 7-8 hours and have little problem with leaks or adjusting to the mask. My sense of improved energy and improved clarity is gradual but noticeable. I had some soreness on the bridge of my nose and an ...

Newbie Thank you for the DME heads up

I just got back from my first meeting with my DME. I left with a new ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset. That would not have happened if without the advice of this forum. Prior to my follow up meeting with my sleep doc, I read on this forum about getting a prescription for a specific machine. My sleep Doc w...
