Re: Are oral appliances worth the thousands of dollars?
I am a retired dentist. I personally used an oral appliance for my "mild" sleep apnea for a few years. It was called a "dorsal fin." I am on CPAP now for moderate OSA. That should tell you the story! I did not mind sleeping with the appliance and I was very compliant. It definitely messed up my bite...

Re: Newbie needs help with various issues:
I agree with what Pugsy said too... your teeth should NOT be moving. I would definitely see your dentist to see what's going on. Again, from my experience as a dentist, something else is taking place. Maybe periodontal issues. OTOH, I have DEFINITELY seen teeth move and bites get screwed up from ora...

Re: Newbie needs help with various issues:
Mrs. Robinson, I am a retired dentist so I may be able to address the bite problem. I have not heard of a nasal pillow or cushion changing anyone's bite but I do believe you. I wonder if you could get a heat moldable double bite guard to use while you sleep. Easily found on Amazon. Or if you have th...

Re: Question About AHI Analogy - Getting Poked With a Stick!
it's what most doctors consider treated. as far as i know, it's merely arbitrary. i can tell you from my own experience, i start to feel poor effects if my ahi climbs to 1.5. mainly it will constitute mild headaches at that point. so whenever i start trending that way, i holler for the forum to adv...

Question About AHI Analogy - Getting Poked With a Stick!
Hello All, hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. I was reading in another thread someone made the analogy that if someone has an AHI of 6, it's equivalent to getting poked by a stick every ten minutes or so. I am quite sure no one would want that while they are sleeping! So my question is this... it is ...

Re: Oscar Data from a couple nights and some issues I'm experiencing
First off, love your username/picture! :) Dead head here! Maybe I am more than a little depressed. I've been struggling a good bit overall... my issue there is this. I have dealt with depression in my life before and made it out the other side. It seemed like medicating was such a waste of my time....

Re: Oscar Data from a couple nights and some issues I'm experiencing
Have you considered that this may not be a sleep apnea problem but more of a mental health problem? You said "a little depressed and a little anxious in your OP." I am wondering if you are more than just a "little depressed." The reason I ask is because I am going through something very similar to w...

How would I get a pulse oximeter to integrate with my Oscar data like that? Thanks.

Now if somebody can give me a strategy to sleep all the way through for 7 1/2 hours that would be the best! I will pay big money for that LOL.

Thank you so much. I am close to 100% certain these occurred when I was not really asleep. At least I’m referring to the big clusters. Always appreciate your expertise!!

Oh perfect, I will absolutely do that Pugsy! Thank you so much. Do you agree with me that these look like SWJ? I don’t need to be worried about centrals?
