Re: I hate my machine

I hate it. I hate having sleep apnea. I hate that my husband reminds I have it because it wakes him up. I hate the sterotypes about sleep apnea. But I hate my machine the most. For several months (maybe a year) it has been relegated to the closet and ignored. The mask itches and if I tighten the st...

Changed my mind again. Time's up! That and I did hear Morbius yelling "Uncle"! Lady you have got to get a life...If all you have to do all day is monitor and post on this site...I feel sorry for you. By the way...you may also have set a record for the number of off color remarks. Well you have over...

Re: Battery Recomendations

Thanks all for the advice. A few more details: I use the battery primarily in a cabin 1000ft behind my house and up a hill so i often move it with my atv but with snow on the ground i have to sled the battery. I was getting 3 nights before having to drag it back to the bousr for charging. solar pan...

Re: POLL: The Reasons I Keep On Coming Back To The Forum

I come back every 4 to 6 weeks just to see if anything has changed. Also I suppose to see if E has resolved anything. Haven't been here since probably Thanksgiving and it looks like there was a recent solar storm again. Sad. I had an issue with my machine the other night and my first thought was to...

Re: Flexible robot for tongue base surgery

I had the radio frequency ablation to reduce the size of the base of the tongue. pretty harmless and painless. I've read where it sometimes requires more than one treatment which can be done in the office however my doctor says only one is necessary. I can't say get as I'm still recovering and evalu...

Re: How to Monitor Sleep Apnea - at Home (i.e. long term)

Once you get sleepyhead working and you can measure your progress, I'd try using Afrin Sinus (oxymetazoline) nasal spray for a couple of days and see if your AHI goes down. If it does, you are likely a candidate for nasal surgery. It's addicting, so don't continue to use it. I had the surgery a mont...

Re: keeping your mouth closed while sleeping

I guess each person has their preference. A simple piece of 2" durapore 3M tape solves the problem for me. It's so much more comfortable than the chin strap. Compared to the chin strap, it feels naked. You've got to have clear nostrils and however. I understand, I think, the explanation on dry mouth...

Agree, the dirtier a filter gets the better it filters. Since you don't have a positive displacement pump on an CPAP you may have to sacrifice air flow for a micro-micron of better filtration and at that point, who knows what kind of mole and cooties are embedded. I'd rather change the filter regul...

Re: Is Ambien dangerous if you have OSA?

Ambien has been know to cause some people to do strange things such as sleep walk etc... It is the prescribed heavily by sleep doctors without any problems. Just try it and see. Xanax is excellent and almost free if your doctor will prescribe that. Otherwise, switch doctors to someone more understan...
