Emptying dreamstation water
Re: Emptying dreamstation water
I own the Dreamstation and it has an easy to open removable reservoir for filling and cleaning any way you prefer.
I use distilled water and there should be no reason for mold buildup if cleaned regularly.

how do you open the removable reservoir? I'll pass that info on to some people that were complaining that the reservoir can't be opened, and they can't get all the water out of it.Soosecip wrote:I own the Dreamstation and it has an easy to open removable reservoir for filling and cleaning any way you prefer.

This is mine with the lid open.
The reservoir is removable as show in the previous pic on this thread.
I use cooled boiled tap water as rep said as an alternative to distilled.
There's slight calcium build up which I shall address with some vinegar as rep said.
I empty it every morning as I was told to by the rep and allow to dry.

In the picture above, the latch next to the blue label, press and the lid pops up.

Re: Emptying dreamstation water
that would be how you open the humifier, the reservoir is the thing one takes OUT of the humidifer, the thing that the OP was complaining could not be emptied of water....Soosecip wrote:In the picture above, the latch next to the blue label, press and the lid pops up.
so, you say you can open the reservoir, ... how?

Re: Emptying dreamstation water
According to the video, the chamber is already open once it is removed from the humidifier.
There is a very wide opening in the top, which seals to the humidifier lid just under the swivel hose connection;
with a silicone gasket that essentially is the lid of the tank.
The opening is big enough for a sponge and the hand holding it.

Got it. This is like texting, you can go back and forth, never really getting the point.
The reservoir lifts out easily, just grab it by the opening edge and lift straight up.
The user manual is lacking in that respect.
The humidifier section can also be detached by pressing the square button on the side.

so, in other words, the reservoir can't be opened, to get at all the nooks and crannies, or to drain it completely... which is what I'd heard from others.Soosecip wrote:Got it. This is like texting, you can go back and forth, never really getting the point.

Re: Emptying dreamstation water
I have a dreamstation. I use only filtered water. After a couple of days I look closely at the water under my bedside lamp and I can see little tiny particles of Lord only knows what floating around. Not a lot. Just a particle here and there. Then I dump it. Often when I dump it I see a slight film on the heating plate which, if I swipe it with my finger, leaves a trail. So something happens in there even when it is distilled water. SHOULDN'T....but it does. I agree thought that the intererior of this tank is extremely difficult to clean so is in my opinion, poorly designed.

Which do you use? Filtered water is not distilled. They are two different things.colorlady wrote: ↑Sat Apr 21, 2018 5:47 pmI have a dreamstation. I use only filtered water.

I have used distilled water for over a year in my CPAP Humidifier with no buildup of anything.

Re: Emptying dreamstation water
I have a Dreamstation, use distilled water, and find little particles after a few days use. The reservoir has a wide open top, the problem is there is a lip around the whole thing that makes it difficult to get the last bit of water out. Just a bit annoying, but not a critical problem IMHO.

Re: Emptying dreamstation water
The tank slides in and out easily and - when removed - is wide open on top. If you wish to empty it, just pour it into the sink or toilet.
Also, there is an error in the photo that was posted.

Re: Emptying dreamstation water
I only empty it when I wash it, and after turning it upside down to drain through the day there are only a few drops of water left and I don’t worry about that. I’ve only been using it for six months, but there’s no evidence of buildup.
If your local water is really bad maybe you’d want to wash it with distilled or bottled water...
Our local water is very hard, so we have a softener system.
