OSCAR: "CPAP Data Located" NOT

Post by Karen Avery » Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:26 am

New CPAP user since June 16, 2020.

I've downloaded OSCAR (onto a Chromebook), gave LINUX permission to the locked SD card, filled out the profile, etc. The data, however, is not being recognized by OSCAR - the process at http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... FIRST_time stops, and I never see the following "CPAP Data Located" message.

The http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... leshooting troubleshooting page has a blank "Data won't load correctly or at all" section http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... _at_all.29.

Thoughts, suggestions, advice?
Thank you! Karen

Did you click the Import button?

In Linux I don't believe it would show as a drive letter. It'd probably be something like /mnt/SD. though I believe the name is up to you. I am also not sure Linux auto-mounts SD cards as Windows does ... you may have to manually mount it with the mount command.

Once you're sure it is mounted, you should be able to click import and navigate to where the root of the SD card is mounted.

welcome to the zoo!

as far as i can tell, you may be the first person on the forum to try to run oscar on a chromebook, though maybe not the first person to run it on linux.

you may get better results posting in this thread-

the authors are on here regularly and may "see" your post there first.

good luck!!

Which version of OSCAR did you download? Chromebooks are not yet on our list of supported computers although support for them is high on the wish list. I'll direct one of the developers familiar with linux and chromebook to your question.

I've sent you a PM (private message) about helping test a Chromebook version of OSCAR.

Karen,
one of the projects I'm working on is cleaning up the Wiki for installing OSCAR on Linux, on a Chromebook. We know it runs on Chromebook, no question, but we need solid instructions on how-to that can be followed by novices. Linux Pros don't seem too major problems. (I'm sure there are small things they can easily solve). This needs to be solid before we announce it.

I would love to help you betatest anything you're working on. BlueDragon PM'ed me about the Apnea Board Forum discussion about OSCAR and Chromebooks, too, so I've signedup there as well.

It's good that you gave Linux permission to access the SD Card and indeed managed to install on a Chromebook. Have you seen this wiki page before?
http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... _Chrome_OS

It contains a header that reads There are 5 topics we need to deal with here:
and you seem to have managed the first 4 steps, but stumbled at the 5th.

That section has the header
Importing SD Card Data

OSCAR is not currently capable of finding your SD Card for you, you have to tell it where it is.

Try working your way through that section, and it should all work. Post back here if you get stuck.
