Yes I know this is a dead thread but just wanted to thank the OP for this suggestion. Using the Amara headgear with the ResMed AirFit F30 frame and cushion has worked brilliantly for me.
I have tried 7 different masks since starting therapy last April as well as a number of supplemental anti leak straps and liners but have always suffered from large leaks. The AIrFit F30 was one of the best but I too had issues with the straps stretching and rubbing against the top of my ears causing sores. However, using the F30 with Amara view headgear has proved to be a revelation for me. It is very comfortable and seems to be a lot more stable on my head such that I can have it comfortably snug without being over tight and achieving only minor leakage. So... "Many thanks!" to the OP for this. :D

I decided to try this too for my F30 and ordered a Philips Amara View headgear from Amazon and I’ll be dammed, it IS more comfortable!

The Philips material seems softer and more stretchy and just more premium than the ResMed material.

The bottom straps on my ResMed headgear seemed to cut into my neck and irritate it but the Philips does not.

Nice “hack”!

So I saw this old post about someone trying a Philips Amara View headgear but on their ResMed F30 and I decided to try it out and it’s been great so far!

What’s really crazy is my AHI numbers dropped from 3-8 every night to under 1 now. I’m seeing 0.8 and 0.3 now!

It’s way more comfortable than the stock F30 headgear which would irritate my neck pretty badly, and it also doesn’t seem to get tangled/twisted up like the old headgear being more substantial straps.

I am going to get rid of the couple of extra brand new F30 headgear sets I have and go with Amara View from now on.

amazing what a bit of "home brewing" can do, innit?

it's always best when that mask(any mask, i mean) sits in just the right position and can deliver the results you want.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

gv280z, thank you for the tip!
I have the same problem with the top strap of the ResMed F30 - the strap is too short.
I will try the Amara View headgear.

I discovered this thread and eagerly ordered a set of the Amara headgear. It looks like in the intervening years the Philips magnet snaps have changed, and it doesn't look like the old blue Resmed versions detach easily.
Hope springs eternal. Sometimes the springs dry up. :)

Hi there,

I just ordered the Amara View headgear also. The magnets are held in place with Velcro on both sets of headgear. Just peel back the Velcro and swap the clips.

:)

Doh!
Where is the sheepish grin emoji when you need it?
Felt great doing the fit test. Can't wait to try it for real tonight.
Thanks for the guidance.
