When will ResMed come out with a new model APAP?

Post by jagzoo » Tue Oct 13, 2020 1:52 pm

My ResMed Autoset is about 5 yrs old. Any news or rumours of a new updated model in the near future?

That questions comes up quite a lot these days. The answers I see boil down to:
  • You're unlikely to hear any rumors because they don't want current units to stop selling.
  • You probably should avoid a very newly introduced unit until it has some time in the market.
The Airsense 10 units have a very good reputation, if I were ResMed I'd want to be really cautious about that. Also, there have been a few updates over time. Newer units apparently offer some settings that weren't always available. (Wish I could be more explicit on that but this is my first ResMed and I got it earlier this year ... love it though!)

There is always a chance some pinhead will decide to remove something we like
--like the sd slot, or "essentials--plus".

Surprisingly, everybody that actually knows anything about it is under a Non Disclosure Agreement with Resmed.

Why do people keep asking this question?

You'll know the same time we do, when there's a press release and your DME starts trying to sell you "the new thing".

In response to your curiosity, I borrowed my aunt Agatha's crystal ball,
and it promptly rolled off the table and down the street.
Aunt Aggie will have my hide!
Now, go to your room and think about the trouble you have gotten me into.

Hi,

_ good question;

_ I would take advantage and poll this, just as curiosity after observations on some one hundred cases: does anybody succeed, ever, on treating properly UARS (I roughly estimate as some 75/80% of cases, which pop in all these Forums) with this entry machine (Autoset Resmed), and not ending up trapping among aerophagia (high pressures), exertioned respiration, and EPR: 3.0?

_ why not Aircurve 10, VAUTO (or other equivalent brand), as the entry machine?

all the best and good luck
