trouble with sore teeth

Post by dcs2672 » Sat Dec 14, 2013 9:39 pm

I started using a cpap about a month ago. It seems to push my tongue forward pressing against my front top teeth
and my teeth are always sore as if they are moving. I don't think a chin strap would help because I have never slept
with my mouth open. Anyone else have any similar problems?

I could understand about your teeth being sore (pressure from the mask), but don't understand what's pushing your tongue forward as the mask is outside your face...??

This is the ideal position if you want to avoid puffy cheeks.

I am still experimenting with mask but yes my teeth are sore when I wake up in the morning. You can try loosening the strap a little but yo can only go so much or it will leak. I finally settled on the mask that inserts into your nostrils and doesn't contact your face anywhere else. The others were tearing my face up.

There's a ridge behind your top teeth. Try placing your tongue there, not pushing against the teeth themselves. Practice all day, to get carryover at night.

Some people use an inexpensive boil and bite mouth guard for their teeth.
