Cox is working in the Vancouver office on Saturdays. He can be difficult to reach, so keep trying and insist that you want to deal with him only. He's been busy lately and he hasn't replied to my emails either.
PM me so we can discuss more....

Maybe Respironics doesn't like the sound of some of your voices or the questions you ask, so they won't talk to you. I have talked to Respironics on several occasions and they have been very helpful. However, the said cannot be said about their support via email. I have heard both the M series and t...

Good choice. That machine is suppossed to be the "Cadilac" of xPap machines. Should probably be the standard (or a similar machine) for everone. No more of this machine switching etc. Give me the good stuff from the beginning. Any idea how much noisier, if at all it is compared to the Resmed Auto w...

Thanks Bill, that's what I thought. BTW, which machine/model are you using?NightHawkeye wrote:
Hope this helps answer your question, Miko. This is all just my perspective, of course.

BIPAP: Should we all use it?
Just wondering if it is a good investment in getting a bipap machine to prevent any lung issues as a result of longterm CPAP use? To me, it only makes sense since your lungs are "stressed" by the extra exhalation they must endure while using CPAP or even C-FLEX?

I have read from a few users that the M series is a lot more noiser than the other Respironics Auto machines. If noise is going to be an issue than that's something to consider. The M series is smaller, but noiser. It's a compromise. In addition, I would assume that the price of the Respironics Auto...

New Respironics A/PAP machines/improvements coming out
Besides the Repironics Auto w/Cflex, any new improvents like onboard sleep results/events on any APAP machines? Perhaps the option of buying an extended warranty?

Yup, we got to do what we have to do. I am 177 cm (5'9.75") and and have managed to get my body weight down to 165 lbs-75 kg (I have had the flu for over a week now from my 170 lbs (77kg)). This has had a bit of an impact on my apnea and GERD. My goal is to lose an additional 25-30 lbs to what I was...

Doc says CPAP is the lesser of two evils
Just came back from my doc today for an update. He said that using CPAP is still better than not using CPAP . There are side-effects of using CPAP but the benefits outweigh the negatives. However, it is depressing that those who have sleep apnea [with or without treatment] will likely live shorter l...

On straight cpap , single pressure, no software - what about the patient's pressure needs in the future? Next month? next year? If the patient's conditions change (weight gain, new meds, more collapsible throat with age, new health problems) and symptoms of sleepiness return, what happens? Doctor s...

Guest, 1) I'm with rested gal, do doctors have sleep studies that show a standard cpap , that blows one constant pressure, does not allow you to have apneas? I suggest this question and all your questions be directed to your sleep doc since they are the experts. I won't be seeing the sleep doc anyt...

Re: Another possible reason Docs don't like APAP
Here's my thought: Patients on APAP NEVER NEED TO HAVE ANOTHER SLEEP STUDY!!! The machine automatically adjusts to the proper pressure. No more retests!! Oh, but wait....try to get your sleep doc to admit or accept the autopaps results? no, he won't. That's why I LOVED the Resmed 's onboard data di...
