Re: Chronic dry mouth from CPAP therapy
... have recently started to have a consistently dry mouth during therapy, resulting in me waking up to slosh my mouth with water several times throughout the evening. It is becoming so dry it is painful. ----- The only occasion when I do not have dry mouth is when I used to mouthtape and use a nas...

Re: Newbie Intro with a question
When you find a mask that works for you not only do you want spares in case it breaks but get as many as you think you will need because that is when the mfg will suddenly stop making your fav mask - not kidding. AMEN to that!! The mask I use, and have been using for many, many years, was discontin...

Re: Can we learn to keep the mouth closed?
For over ten years I've been using tape over my mouth to prevent my mouth-breathing during sleep. That's the only way I've been able to use the nasal pillows mask I prefer. Here's a link with a lot of topics about creative ways to prevent mouth breathing while sleeping: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewt...

Re: How should your prescription read???
Personally, I've gotten everything I want (CPAP related) without having to jump through Medicare and other prescription/order hoops. I've bought all of my machines and a lifetime of supplies out-of-pocket, and quite some time before I got on Medicare. Den . I've always done the same. Out of pocket;...

I'll be too narcotized to put up a fight. Gonna be a lot of relaxed collapsed tissue in the airway. All the more reason, imho, to do what some others have suggested and bring your machine, mask, hose, humidifier, and a little bottle of distilled water -- along with a savvy, gutsy relative or friend...

Re: Still haven't received the ASV machine that was prescribed
The part that always gets me is how many americans will still try to defend this system as " the best in the world" which is just beyond belief. Well, I don't find indoctrination, dogma, delusion, or dishonesty beyond belief. Any of those might lend the statement that we Americans have the best hea...
