Re: Nasal Pillows for Mouth Breathers

Would echo what many others have said. I actually suffer from some nasal congestion and was convinced I couldn't do the nasal breathing, but I trained myself to do so successfully. One of the nice (or not so nice things) about using the nasal pillows are that if you do try to breath through your mou...

Re: Use Any Mask with your AirMini

Thanks, great idea. I'm not sure the cord configuration you got with the F20, but I'm pretty sure that I basically have the same cord with my nasal mask, and I was able to also do the same gerry rigging of a smaller hose that I had. Great idea! I haven't used the silicone seal yet- which brand did y...

Re: Another AirMini experience

One more update after now a total of three nights with the Airmini. Verdict is - I'm afraid I don't like it too much. For whatever reason, the sounds didn't bother me as much on night 1 as they did on nights 2 and 3. I didn't sleep well for the last two nights. I think I could get used to it, but I'...

But if the pressure is an absolute number in cmH2O shouldn't that be the adjustment for the hose size?

Re: Another AirMini experience

Agree, I won't mess with it unless ResMed comes up with an approved connector to alternate masks (I'm not holding my breath - so to speak - on that happening). I did sleep with it last night, and overall I found it fine. Indeed it was a little noisier but not enough to really interfere with my sleep...

Re: Another AirMini experience

Hi all, thanks for the thoughts. Yeah, I don't pretend that the db level means anything - honestly I didn't mind the air sound, it was just the very slight whistle that I found irritating. I am going to give it a go sleeping with it a few nights -- I don't actually think it's a deal killer. At least...

Another AirMini experience

Hi everyone, I did wind up getting the AirMini. I love the overall formfactor of the product (everything fits in a small handy bag it would be easy to travel with). But, as others have pointed out, I am disappointed that the mask makes more breathing noise. (I measured 45db at the mask on exhale.) E...

Re: Does a O2 level of 87 at high altitude really require CPAP?

Hi I didn't have a chance to read the many responses here, but keep in mind you can do a home sleep test, you don't have to go to a sleep center. Not sure what reimbursement would be for that given that you already have a diagnosis, but it's worth asking her GP about it. Basically the send you a dev...

Also as I said they wouldn't tell me the price but they did say that they had begun to take preorders from distributors. They didn't say when they would deliver those preorders.

Re: I saw the Air Mini this week and it looks amazing!

Sadly I do not have answers. I didn't ask about battery pack. The machine doesn't even have a display, suggesting an app is needed to control it, but I didn't ask about data. Resmed is not pitching it as a primary machine, so it is possible that it gives less data.

I saw the Air Mini this week and it looks amazing!

I had a meeting with Resmed management in Sydney this week and they brought in an Air Mini. A few comments: 1- overall look and feel is wonderful 2- power cord- it is compact but it does have a small block on it. I will post a photo shirtly. The power cord probably weighs a few ounces. 3- noise- I h...

Re: problems with hdm z1

well, I figured a medical device, being FDA approved, has to go through some level of testing. I was assuming that the therapeutic value of the device would be as good as the larger ones, at the expense of some convenience (humidity, noise). Really, though, I do suspect that the problem with the Z1 ...

Sadly, I was dumb and bought through secondwindcpap.

Lesson learned! Hoping for better from the resmed mini.

problems with hdm z1

I took the plunge and bought and HDM Z1 with auto pap. Unfortunately my first night with it was a disaster compared to the resmed airsense 10 I normally use. A couple of things struck me: 1) the apap seems horrendous. the machine just seems to arbitrarily increase pressure to very high levels. my re...
