NASAL PILLOWS

Post by snorkle » Wed Oct 20, 2004 2:53 pm

Anyone out there using the Swift Mask Nasal Pillows by Resmed? If so can anyone tell me the difference between "pillows' and "dilator pillows?" My wife uses this nasal pillow system and she uses the small pillows and on some websites they have replacement pillows as well as dialator pillows and I was wondering what the difference is between the two. Any information would be appreciated, thanks.

Swift pillows or Breeze pillows?

Hi Bill,

If your wife is using the ResMed Swift, I think there are only 3 sizes of "pillow" for the Swift. I looked on the ResMed company website just now and see only this listed as replacement parts for the Swift:

Mirage Swift Nasal Pillows System
(includes three pillow sizes: S, M, L)

The pillows that you've seen listed in many other different sizes, including "dilator" (bigger all over, including the length they go into the nose) are probably for a completely different headgear and system. Dilator pillows (as well as many other regular sizes) are available for Puritan Bennett's Breeze and the Adams Circuit - but as far as I know, there's no such thing as "dilator pilows" for the ResMedSwift.

Most of the time when "nasal pillows" are mentioned without any mention of the actual brand of interface, I'd think it would be pillows for the Breeze, not the Swift. Perhaps your wife is using a Breeze rather than a Swift?
