Re: New auto-SV user checking in

You are wasting your time, not being shaven and having a FFM with an ASV. It is either a nasal mask with no mouth leaks or a shave. ASV are the most sensitive to leaks and air will diffuse through the beard and won't support your breath properly. Go back to your DME or ask your doctor.

Re: UK and NHS...New clinic, new machine troubles.

Thanks for that. Another question I have, is it normal for someone who's been on an autoset machine, then switched to cpap randomly, to have these constant issues that require moving back to autoset? Squeaky wheels and all that, go back to NHS and try your luck. They may have the wrong pressure and...

Re: Need Help with Better Sleep and Pressure Sets

I wouldn't increase the pressure and keep it at 12, if over the week, the 95% stays at 12. You could reduce to 11.5, because 12 may not be needed. You could also leave it at 12. This is what may be set as a fixed pressure CPAP. You can keep this as your min pressure. The cluster at the beginning if ...

Re: apnea pressures vs hypopnia pressures?

I would follow basic titration and would increase min pressure or stronger air-splint, 1cm at a time till the OA, H and FL clear

Re: res med air curve 10 bipap

I figured maybe bi pap is easier to breath with Unless your median pressure is over 15, It really is most likely, just a matter of getting use to the dreamstation pressure. The same as you will need to if you switch to bilevel. There is the flex setting that act similar to a mini bilevel and may he...

Another vote to ignore ajack... he rarely knows what's going on, reads lots of papers he doesn't understand, doesn't bother to read threads here, and posts very confusing stuff, and has admitted to posting while drunk.. best to just put him on your foe list and pretend he doesn't exist. please. sla...

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice

My advice is and has always been, to go back to the doctor. I haven't suggested any changes from the script. It is the ones on the forum that is giving advice on settings. The blind leading the blind, but please continue.

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice

Last night was very peaceful. No battling with pressure or leaks and I only woke up once to use the bathroom. I never thought I'd see a chart like this: I'm starting to think this isn't a fluke. :D Well done just ignore ajacks ramblings labs make mistakes all the time. It seems to me they tried Apa...

Re: Need Help with Better Sleep and Pressure Sets

12 looks good to me, your numbers are good. Keep 12 for a while. The rest is up to you. Focus on leaks, you want a mask that will seal at 15-20, so you have a buffer. you can use the mask fit option that blows high pressure. Positional looked good last night, Getting your head back, to open your air...

Re: Need Help with Better Sleep and Pressure Sets

Positional clustering was my first observation on page one. I did make some suggestions there for you to try. When there is a large swing in pressure over the night, it is an indicator. although better than the highs you were getting. You are currently getting pressures in the 13 on auto, so you do ...

Re: Smargie’s Therapy Thread...in Need of ASV Advice

again, people are saying what they think it is and not what they know it is. The resmed ASV doesn't tag CSA, resmed themselves say they don't. The max ps has been reduced to 8, from memory the prescription was max ps 15. As such. no one can say whether the CSA are being effectively treated, without ...

treatment of obstructive events, marginal treatment of CA, unknown are you ready to talk to your doctor yet? Yes, I'm ready, though I doubt the doctor would even give me an appointment based on my numbers. My AHI is well under 5, which according to the medical definition of Sleep Apnea, means it is...

Re: Increased CA's, unusual SpO2 drops during REM - Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome(OHS)?

Your chart doesn't look like OHS. Raise your min epap to 6, a bit over your 95% number, then check your o2. Mostly your tidal volumes minute vent and o2 look good.

Re: NEED A HIGHER CPAP PRESSURE???

check for chin tucking positional stuff, it may account for the pressure swings. I would suggest you follow the cpap titration protocol. Raise min pressure 1cm at a time to clear obstructive events.
