1. What insurance do you have ? Group ..state etc.. No CPAP coverage under a Kaiser ACA plan 2. under what benefit do your supplies/accessories fall ? *example* are you paying your dme copay or deductable as if each supply (ex filter, mask, tube) should be subject to the same copay as your actual m...

Re: How does your insurance bill your accessories and supplies

So how were your supplies billed and coded? Do you think the codes are wrong? It would help if you post some actual details of what you believe is wrong with your EOB. I've been trying to follow your posts- so far, you state that the Ins. co should cover your cpap supplies at 100%. What are you bei...

Re: How does your insurance bill your accessories and supplies

You haven't told us why this is so important to you. The way our insurance bills has no bearing on you. Because at some point someone else’s information and or how there eob is billed and worded may help someone else get there own bill sorted - since lots of insurance company’s like to screw people...

Re: How does your insurance bill your accessories and supplies

Does anyone have united healthcare choice in network (no deductable plan) through an employer. For example, we have insurance through sabres group plan. Yes I know insurance is different. Just wondering if someone has a similar plan

How does your insurance bill your accessories and supplies

Yes I know every insurance is different... If you are willing to share, how does your specific insurance bill your accessories and supplies? (Not your actual cpap or Bipap machine) Can some of you look at your eobs and enlighten me... this may help me or other people who are having issues having ins...

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

Follow up .. -I can not appeal until they bill me (paper bill with eob) even though it’s currently listed online so I now have my hands tied until 3/16 (most likely 3/20) when the eob should be mailed -our benefits coordinator can’t get involved until they actually send the paper copy eob (I sooo lo...

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

Ask to talk to the "APPEAL a claim' dept. Or, for independent 3rd party review, contact Health and human services 1-888-393-2789. (I got this info, my myUHC.com from my plan. I had to go thru the "appeal a claim" process 2 times this year so far. Thy got things straightened out, finally. Thanks wil...

Call Ins. co and ask them to explain it to you.
If the insurance company wasn’t changing the explanation they give every time we call and get a 18 year old wet behind the years customer service moron I wouldn’t be asking advice on how to handle the insurance company on a message board.

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

What I think it boils down to is “cpap ACCESSORIES are not billed under the durable medical benefit” so the question to united should be how are dme accessories billed. With accessories and or replacment parts being the key wording ? Does that seem accurate... thoughts???

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

Does anyone here maybe have united health care choice ‘in network’ through group. If so would you kindly look at one of your eob’s for your cpap supplies, as well as your uhc info on dme through uhc’s portal (if it is the same plan and also says *250 per item 100% expenses than it should be the same...

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

Then you need to call UHC and ask them how to resubmit the claim because they processed it wrong. Ask what info they are missing, like code numbers etc. Ask if the DME billed the order the correct way- with all the correct codes included. Good luck, someone at UHC is processing your claims wrong. A...

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

So you don't have an EOB yet. You are just going by what someone at UHC read to you over the phone. Wait till you get the EOB and see what it says you are responsible for. That is all you will owe, no matter what the DME bills you for, you are only responsible for the contracted allowable amount. M...

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

Does the policy actually state what is considered "supplies"? Do you have an EOB from a purchase and it shows you are responsible for $250 for 1 filter? The policy just says supply’s covered at 100%. There is no eob this is the first supply order. United has a separate document that list supplies i...

Re: United healthcare supplies for cpap nightmare

The OP needs to contact their insurance, and first confirm that this supplier is in network. Stuff changes with the new year. Get the DME and your insurance on the phone in a CONFERENCE CALL. Insist that things get settled before you leave. Yes the dme is in network, confirmed before order and bene...
