Vapor distilled water

I saw 16 oz bottles of Simple Truth vapor distilled water with electrolytes for taste. Does anyone know if this is safe in CPAP machine. The bottle size is what attracted me..if this will work, there would be no need to carry a gallon bottle when traveling. Thanks

Not sure. Why not fill up a water bottle with distilled water?

It's no better than tap water.

The *ONLY* reason to use distilled water is to avoid having mineral deposits in the tank... "electrolytes".

Just use tap water when traveling, rinse out the tank and buildup will be minimal... then give it a vinegar soak when you get home... clean as new.

"Taste?" Absolutely not!

First choice is distilled water (not from a petrol station). Second choice is purified water. Third choice is any other potable water that is not colored, flavored, or carbonated!

Sounds like they make distilled water then put crap back in it, I'd use Real Distilled Water, use a smaller bottle if you don't want to carry a gallon, or buy it when you arrive, don't carry it at all. Jim

I could just fill a liter size SodaStream bottle with distilled water,
add a strip of duck tape to distinguish from drinking water,
and pack in the car with my cpap stuff.
Maybe I'll take the carbonater along, too.
Fizzy water is so nice--to drink.

This sounds like a caffeine-free chocolate bar with real natural cocoa in it. Somet'ing ain't quite rite. A distillate is by definition derived from a process of vaporization. Adding what you wanted to remove by distillation, i.e. the minerals, especially for (yikes!) 'taste', reverses this. But, I guess it employs people.

I would only use distilled water if I lived in a region with moderately hard water. Otherwise, municipal water should be fine for your PAP's humidifier. Just do not let it go dry if you can. Rinse it daily with more tap water and then refill. If your unit uses so much that it does go dry during the night, then yeah, you'll have to purchase distilled water. Most drug stores sell it by the gallon for two or three dollars.

We in the US pay 68 cents for a gallon at Walmart.

No, it's Canadian 'dollars'....much like a peso, only poorer.

My DME cautioned me about using distilled water from Wally's saying people had found it isn't a good distilled water. Drug store stuff seems to be best, but I use tap water. Far cheaper, easy to rinse out the tub and refill.
