Resmed 11 water reservoir

Post by yulcdn » Fri Apr 08, 2022 11:29 am

Everyday I seem to have a struggle removing the water reservoir from my new Resmed 11. I have been using Cpap for years and this machine replaced my Resmed 10. Has anyone found a hack or an easy way to pull out the reservoir?

Why do you pull it out every day - can you not fill it in place?

If ANY CPAP has a tank that can be filled without removal, please, tell us!
High time the manufacturers put in a feature people have been wanting for years!

because there's no fill hole in the top.

And that shot has been taken by a number of hard-core lab-rats.
And posted in this forum.
Search for tank refill . . . Etc.

Husband picked up his brand-new Resmed Airsense 11 today. I've had same model for the past few months.

On his new Resmed it is very hard to remove the humidifier to add water. You have to push down on the white tab VERY HARD and simultaneously give a HARD tug at the humidifier to get it to release. (Not a good situation for someone with compromised strength).

Then, once released. it is difficult to open the tank to add water (three hands would be helpful) .

The gasket between the two halves of the humidifier clamshell appears to seated correctly.

Any ideas from the experts?

A version of this mod might work for you.

It works like a bird water feeder.

That is exactly my issue. The only way I can get the reservoir out of the machine is by trying to split the two halves of the clamshell to try to release what I assume is suction. I am concerned that the water reservoir will break.

It loosens up over time, but it's still the most difficult humidifier removal I've experienced. The design is not that great. I feel like the max line is pretty much near overflowing on the edges.

I use my tanks a looooong time. (Still using Airsense 10)
This way, I can get the edges on the retaining lugs worn down a bit.
Conversely, you could identify those features on an older tank,
(not your ONLY tank) and try filing them down--a tiny bit at a time.
Note: I rarely separate the gasket from the shell,
as getting it in a wee bit "off" is asking for tons of pain.

The white button (pad) on the 11s water tank seems to just be a location to press that would compress the silicone seal between the two halves of the tank.

If the seal is misplaced or not seated correctly, it will resist being compressed and therefore making it more difficult to release the tank.

Dreamstation 1. Open the top and pour water in. You can also remove the tank to fill if you wish.

Same with the ResMed S9.

With the S9, it is wisest to use a funnel, as the top hole is a bit small;
and we don't want water under the tank.
I ALWAYS removed the tank on my S9s, because . . . Tremor.

You're courting disaster if you fill the S9 humidifier and slosh any water over the edge of the tank and into the humidifier itself. In other words, do what Resmed says and remove the tank.
