help with reading my sleepyhead data

Post by Barb (Seattle) » Sat Mar 10, 2018 5:03 pm

ok, I just took a nap and this might be easier to disect than a whole night's readings.

when I look under the event tab (Centrals) it is this: oh great. I can't cut and paste.

it lists a central anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes in between some of them lasting (IF the numbers in the parentheses
are seconds...and mean how long they lasted).

that's a lot of apneas in 1 1/2 hours argh

Date Sleep Wake Hours

ok, now this is the 7th. I've been changing my pressure around this is a HORRIBLE ahi. I have to wait over two weeks for another sleep study. I just had one in August where the Dr said they couldn't resolve my centrals. WHY didn't he put me on an ASV??? I changed Drs and hopefully, they allow another study since obviously there is a big problem.

The white area is just the time frame you have zoomed in on.

Can you get me a screen shot that includes the entire detailed report like is shown in the examples in this thread.
viewtopic/t158560/How-to-post-images-for-review.html

And don't do the nap...do a full night.

Also..what is the model of your machine...950 or 960 or something else.

Never mind about the 950/960 thing. I thought you were using a different machine.
I thought with your previous post in the ASV discussion thread you were using an ASV machine. You aren't.
You are using the Respironics DreamStation Auto BiPap model DSX700xxx in fixed bilevel mode but your snippets are still omitting information that would tell use what is going on.
Do one screen shot...hide the calendar...and on the left side make sure the AHI and statistics are visible (detail tab) and on the right side these graphs.
Events
Flow rate
Pressure
Leak
all in one image please.

What specific questions do you have?
Disregard the nap data...it's highly suspect as to being accurate due to the fact that often with naps there's a lot Sleep/Wake/Junk even flags that aren't real.

I guess I just want to know how serious the centrals are because it's kind of frustrating. How to stop them and why didn't my Dr address this instead of just writing a letter saying they couldn't figure it out. Kind of a hopeless feeling.

Can you get me the detailed graphs that go along with the AHI graph for March 7 with all the centrals?
Is this something you are seeing routinely? Or was this a fluke bad night?
Are you using BiFlex exhale relief and if so...at what setting?

So that the image looks more like this one please? I need to see when those centrals/CAs are getting flagged.
And were you pretty much sound asleep when they were flagged?

30 something centrals an hour...way too many.
Did you have centrals prior to starting cpap therapy?
How long have you been on this machine?
Answers to all these questions will help us offer more specific ideas.

I need the image to look like this so I can see everything in one image to best evaluate things.

hmmmm I thought I had posted that picture..I'll check :)

centrals weren't a problem before this machine. I think it's the DreamMachine myself, but who knows.

I was on the M series bipap before this. it will be a year on this in May. I have wasted almost a whole
year on this. I've called for MONTHS about the high numbers that's why I had a study in August of last year.
nonconclusive. unacceptable and I'm pretty angry about it.

flex is 3 I tried 2 and that didn't feel comfortable.

thank you for your help!

What were the settings when you were using the M Series machine?
And which model M series?
What was the usual AHI with the M series machine?

Do you happen to have a copy of the results of that last inconclusive sleep study last August? Was it with or without a cpap machine of some sort?

I have an idea to try but it depends on what your settings were on the M series machine.

And M series machines didn't flag centrals or clear airway events separately like the new machines do. I was told by a Respironics software tech that the centrals that might have happened just got dumped into the hyponea or OA basket. I have no idea if that was true or not but that's what I was told.

no...I don't have any results of my sleep study. Wish i did. I will get one when I get my records transfered over. I am going to call them on Monday and ask why they didn't try an ASV machine. They did a split night which was stupid, I needed to "meet the criteria" she said for insurance. I have been on CPAP for a couple of decades they should have TITRATED me and it should have been all night long IMHO

this is from last night. horrible again.

I just dont know how to read the graphs. That's why they're techs I guess

Based on what is seen here and not having access to the other reports...I am in agreement that ASV would be the way to go.
I have no idea why they didn't try it.
I don't know if you had those centrals without cpap or if they popped up because of cpap.

Was your M series machine a bipap? Or was it a cpap/apap machine without bilevel pressures.

I have one idea to try with this current bipap but I need to know what your M series settings were before I offer it.
