yup it was a bipap and for some reason I can't exactly remember but I THINK it was set at 16/12. I don't remember centrals being a problem. One time the Dr explained the chart to me and showed me how as the obstructive were treated, my centrals went down. So apparently, he knew about them then. Ever since Sleepyhead I've been a lot more concerned with the numbers...writing them down and experimenting a bit with pressure. Not any more I am keeping it the same now.

I am just reading the sticky about apnea...very informative! Am learning a lot (even though I"m not a newbie)

The M series machines didn't flag centrals at all.
So we don't know if they were a problem back then or not.

Do you take any medications that might suppress respiration...especially some sort of pain medication?

What is your best AHI on this new DreamStation?
Naps don't count.

Can you get me a very special zoomed in picture of the flow rate graph?
Follow these instructions carefully.

Go back to the Events tab
Click on Clear Airway category.
Scroll down till you find a cluster of CAs flagged and at the same time flagged PB/CSR....click on the event timed in the middle of the cluster and make sure the graph is green from PB. The graph on the right will change once you click on that single even in the middle.
It zooms in on the breathing.
Get me a screen shot of that level of zooming in that includes centrals and green PB/CSR flagging.

So that it looks like this...sort of. This one is zoomed out just a little too much but I don't have a better one handy.

not sure if this is zoomed enough......my best ahi was 5.something (low!)
highest was almost 60 I believe. I take TRamadol but during the day. I am on Requip for restless legs. I WAS taking
muscle relaxers and gapapentin but the Dr said those don't affect sleep *shrug* I am only on Requip at night now.
reading your other instructions and figuring that out..might be a while

Not zoomed in at all and looks nothing like the one I showed you above.

If you just click on one of the events like I explained above Sleepyhead does the zooming in for you.

Too technical for me
It's only too technical if you want to give up and not get help, or if you tell yourself it's "too technical".

First thing, hit F9 and F10 to turn off the space wasting calendar and right sidebar.

Second thing, *STOP PLAYING SCRAP BOOKING* Screenshot the whole page, not just a snippet, you make it MUCH harder for anybody to help you when you only show a little bit here or there.

Then, to zoom, you can either use the arrow keys, up and down zoom in and out, left and right move the zoomed section left and right. You can also zoom in by pointing to a spot on one of the charts, and left clicking, to zoom back out, you can right click on a chart.

Always (unless someone specially requests other information) show the "detail" tab on the left, not events.... events is useless for us, because we can seel all those in the event flags strip.

Only show the strips that Pugsy has repeatedly asked for. event flags, flow rate, pressure, leak rate. drag those charts so they take up the full right side of the window, so that they're easier to see.

It's all quite simple, you just have to try a little.

I don't mean to sound rude or cruel but you haven't answered some questions that I asked and I asked them for a reason.
You want ideas to help but I don't like guessing and it's hard enough to do this stuff long distance without having as much information as possible. I can't help if you can't help me help you.

If you can't understand the directions to get me the information that I need to stand any chance to help you then so be it.
I won't make wild ass guesses though.

You need to find a different doctor who specializes in sleep medicine and knows how to figure out centrals and what to do about them.
It's obvious that this doctor now doesn't have a clue.
And don't rely on the DME at all. It's not their job to evaluate data and prescribe machines...their job is to follow the instructions of the doctor.

If your centrals are real...you need a different machine. Most likely of the ASV variety.

I don't understand what you post as instructions. I dont know the lingo.

I just simply wanted to know how to read the charts.

I will ask my Dr. Maybe in person he can explain it.

How to read the charts.

http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... d#pid73182

Some of it you will already know about since you have SleepyHead already installed.

Then take the time to watch the videos here.
