It's common. country/major city in time zone.
Actually, it's continent (or ocean)/major city in time zone, as I found when I looked it up. "America" in this context refers to any of the continental Americas, not simply the country whose name is often abbreviated to "America".

My time was off too. Still said UTC-5, so changed it to America/New York and that fixed it.

But this one is a little long. It took me a few tries to find NYC.

But, yes, the America section does have a lot of cities in and around the western hemisphere... including Havana. If you just want the US time zones, you use US/
