Re: Availability of ResMed CPAP machines
Not to mention, ResMed are based in Australia and many machines are likely sitting on container ships in ports waiting to be unloaded. Or otherwise in transit. Apparently DME suppliers have highest priority for the limited number of machines that manage to show up. As a single data point, my local ...

Re: new issue-soffocating feeling
When you come back to bed, do you get the suffocating feeling before you put the mask back on? This sometimes happens to me and immediately putting on the mask makes it worse. I find that if I wait a couple of minutes before recommencing CPAP that I can get over this feeling. That said, I have a pro...

Re: Can't stop air escaping from my mouth
Chin straps have a couple of issues in that they pull the jaw backwards and if that goes far enough the jaw also goes downwards. You've mentioned that you've lost weight - is your cervical collar now too big for you? One poster I know uses Scunci hair bands with great effect. While they're designed ...

Re: Getting really frustrated by noise issues: What does your ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet Sound Like
Long story cut short. My Aircurve with 10,000 hours on it quit while I was using it. Fortunately I have an S9 as a back up and used that while I tried to sort out the issue but with no joy. Based on that I purchased a used machine from Secondwind hoping that the hours were low and yes, only 56 hours...

Re: Sudden stop of positive CPAP therapy effects
One thing that I saw was that you seem to get better results in fixed (CPAP) mode as opposed to auto (APAP). While most of us are not like this there are some who do much better with a set pressure and there are all sorts of reasons for this happening. It's just a matter of finding the optimum press...

Re: Airline ADA allowed CPAP use; how do I wear mask over nasal canula-mine blows air out of it; do I put others at risk
Wearing a nasal CPAP mask or wearing a medical mask would be about the same. CPAP masks have vents and obviously air will escape into the plane in the form of fine aerosol spray. Large droplets will be contained within the tubing. Similarly, the basic cloth face masks will stop exhalation of large d...

Re: SD Data Card
My understanding is that if you put your SD card into your PC and then read it via OSCAR, then it stays in OSCAR's files on your PC but I could be wrong.

Re: Resmed Aircurve V10 Auto Stopped Working
I have never heard of the SD card causing a machine to not power on. It makes no sense. I doubt that the 16 GB card is full though...that would take years and years I would think. Most likely the SD card went bad somewhere...never heard of any machine not wanting to power on with a bad card in it. ...

Re: Resmed Aircurve V10 Auto Stopped Working
The plot thickens as I now have three working machines. After setting up and testing the new machine I took the SD card out of the one that stopped working, put it into my iMac and checked to see if what data was on it. I eventually went to bed and when I tried to switch on the new machine it wouldn...

Re: Resmed Aircurve V10 Auto Stopped Working
My replacement machine arrived today from Secondwind CPAP and I've just set it up. I prevaricated about whether or not I should buy used (S9 or Aircurve VAuto) or a new VAuto. I went with the middle option (used Aircurve) but with a little bit of trepidation as SW said the machine could have up to 3...

Yes, buckwheat pillow works very well. I also found that goose down pillows can also be effective.

Re: Resmed Aircurve V10 Auto Stopped Working
I'm afraid I've mislaid that particular paperwork. But from memory the repair was carried out by ElectroMedical Group in Belmont WA. https://emedgroup.com.au/ I didn't deal with them direct but the repair came back fairly quickly. They repaired a malfunctioning humidifier and also replaced the blow...

Re: Resmed Aircurve V10 Auto Stopped Working
I've bitten the bullet and ordered another 'gently used' machine from Second Wind. The price has gone up. Four years ago it was about $AUS1100, this one has cost me $AUS1600. I'm looking for an Australian repairer for my current machine. Do any Aussies on here have a source. I suspect that it might ...

Re: OT: Super Froggy--cancer, part 2
Just thought I'd chime in and wish you well. As a recovered cancer patient I've got an idea of what you might be going through. Fortunately, no chemo required for me - just external beam radiation. The best thing I did was have a belief in the process and I'm now clear. I'm wishing the same thing fo...
