I am trying to help a family member out. Does the dreamstation have an auto off feature? Shuts off when the mask is taken off?
The old machine had it and his wife is missing it. lol

Nope. In the 12 years since diagnosis I have seen him once, like 7 years ago.

Re: Anyone Else Have Felt 'Crippled' By This Stupid Disorder?
Let me also add this. The reason I am treating my sleep apnea has nothing to do with my energy level. (though an improvement there is always good). I treat it because I dont want to die of a stroke or a heart attack. Sleep apnea is serious. It does not just affect your sleep. You are depriving your ...

Re: Anyone Else Have Felt 'Crippled' By This Stupid Disorder?
No. I dont feel crippled by sleep apnea. I feel relieved that it isn't something a thousand times worse. I feel lucky that it can be treated so simply and without adding more medication to my mix. I feel empowered to be able to handle my own treatment. Crippled? No. I feel crippled by my depression ...

Re: How long do machines last?
My last machine is 12 years old. Still runs. Resmed S8 elite. I wanted an apap and my old machine was loud. Plus I just had the faintest feeling that it had started to sound a little different. I dont know. I might be paranoid. My husband swears it sounds the same as it always has. lol So I replaced...

Re: Dedicated CPAP packing list
This seems like so much overkill. It is pointless. The only reason for this is if I am unconscious, in a hospital. If that is the case then they already know to use distilled water. They already know they need a mask to go with the machine, they already know that a machine can run without a humidifi...

but then you started the passive-aggressive behavior mode *shrugs*, you can lead a horse to water... Frankly, Palerider was not the only person being agressive or passive agressive. Both of you did your share of it. I dont think it was needed on either end.....but if you know so much then why are y...

Re: Apnea Misdiagnosis?
You have sleep apnea. There is no amount of tossing and turning that is going to cause your breathing to stop that way for that length of time. It sucks. Most people never want to hear that they have SA. I was personally THRILLED....because it meant I wasnt crazy. It meant that my issue could be tre...

Re: Dedicated CPAP packing list
My bag has actual compartments with pictures on them. lol. It tells you exactly what goes in each section of the bag. There is my packing list. If a compartment is empty then something is missing.....and the picture will tell me what it is. Plus when I pack my cpap I lay my bag open on the bed...

Re: What am I doing right?
I dont think it is about you doing anything right or anyone else doing anything wrong. I dont recall having a major struggle to adjust. It was 12 years ago.....so maybe I just dont remember. lol. But I was also 25 years old, had no sinus issues, no septum issues, and no bad attitude about the whole ...

Re: Apnea Misdiagnosis?
Your movements might be an entirely different sleep issue. That doesn't mean you dont also have sleep apnea. Your girlfriend is presumably asleep when she is sleeping with you.....so she may not notice that it is happening. Set up the camera with her there. Confirm. Dont trust another sleeping perso...

Re: Severe chest injury and CPAP?
Windows 8 or 10 computer????? If so, don't forget to lock that SD card before you put it in the computer. If it's too late and you already have done it then the S9 won't like the text file it puts on the SD card and will prompt you to erase again. We might be able to remove that file and you won't ...

Re: Where do you put your machine?
None of the above. I bought a small shelf that attaches to the side rail of the bed. It was like $20 on amazon. Keeps it just slightly lower than my head, perfect size for my machine.

As much fun as politics is....... If anyone happens on a decent gel or memory foam full face mask online without a prescription for a great price......let me know. lol. I promise not to tell the cops who led me to my life of crime when I am busted for buying masks without sending in the prescription...

Re: Anyone using more than one mask regularly?
I usually only have 2 masks in rotation. One nasal pillow mask (Used to be the Swift LT, recently moved to the Nuance Pro) and one full face mask that I use only when sick so I can breath through my mouth when my nose is completely plugged. I was using the Quattro for several years but mine has rece...
