What will happen if I didn’t use Cpap for 2 weeks
Re: What will happen if I didn’t use Cpap for 2 weeks
As others have said, buy a travel CPAP machine. They are very small and lightweight.

What I am reading between the lines is that you are a woman, and that you are going on a religious pilgrimage.
I understand the separation of genders is a matter of faith and culture, but I would hope that there would be comparable facilities for men and women.
In any case, you will really feel rotten if you don't use your CPAP, even if you don't have a health crisis.

Depending on how severe your sleep apnea is, if you don't use your machine you run the risk of dying.

Do you have access to your sleep study report? The reason I'm asking is there may be some details in it that could help your decision. If your sleep apnea events were as many on your side as on your back, this wouldn't help you. But if your events were mostly positional - while supine - taking steps to prevent back sleeping (like sleeping with a backpack) could bring your events to a tolerable level. Also, training oneself to sleep in a position where gravity pulls the tongue forward and does not allow it to fall backward can help those whose tongue is the major culprit. A cervical pillow to maintain neck alignment is another possibility. Also consider the duration of your events and your oxygen levels on your report. If your report shows sleep stages, see how miserable your sleep is likely to be without your machine. Make your decision based on facts, even if that ends up meaning taking a machine.

Maybe try one night without using it and see how you feel. Is there a way to order equipment over the net and have it shipped to you ?
In the past many people lived with severe sleep apnea and no cpap the lived... maybe not that long. But trust your gut feelings, they will tel you what you need.

This is really bad advice. Yeah, you might live without using it, but then again you might not. She was prescribed the machine because her sleep study obviously showed that she needed it to effectible treat the sleep apnea. IMHO the only time it's acceptable to not use the machine is if it breaks and you have no backup machine available to use that night (in other words, when you have no functioning machine to use).esel wrote: ↑Sat Mar 17, 2018 12:55 pmMaybe try one night without using it and see how you feel. Oups, I wasn't thinking not to quit using it. I was more thinking not to lose or no longer have any equipment. For some people this stuff is expensive and difficult to replace.PaulKTF wrote: ↑Sat Mar 17, 2018 1:00 pmThis is really bad advice. Re: What will happen if I didn’t use Cpap for 2 weeks
In Egypt, electricity is supplied at 220 volts 50 hz. In Saudi Arabia, it is suplied at either 110 or 220 volts and 60 hz. This will not be an issue, as the DreamStation will handle either and not require any action on your part.
What might be problematic is shape of the power sockets (or "powerpoints"). In Egypt, you will only find electric plugs with round pins. In Saudi Arabia, you might also find the U.S. style socket with two flat parallel blades, or the U.K. style socket with two co-linear flat plugs somewhat larger than the U.S. stype, and also an even larger ground pin (without which the socket will not function).
Note below, U.S. style on the left and center, U.K. style on the right. Note that the three-prong U.S. socket in the center will accommodate the two prong U.S. plug shown on the left. This is not the case for the U.K style on the right; you will need all three pins.
