I was doing pretty good until the weather got nice and windows were opened. It seems I get a little stuffy at night...never really thought about it before CPAP, but now realize it pretty fast after putting the mask on.
Any advice on how to remedy this issue? Heated tube? I have one but have not used it yet.
stuffiness at night
Re: stuffiness at night
Experiment with humidifier settings, including even not using it at all... everyone's different, as are locations climate-wise.

Re: stuffiness at night
Does the stuffiness continue through the night and then go away once your remove the mask in the morning?
What setting are you using on the humidifier?

Re: stuffiness at night
I have it set to 3 and usually after putting the mask on it sort of clears up a bit, but not last night, I have no memory, but took the mask off after about 1.5 hrs..... strange how I can't even remember doing it.
Re: stuffiness at night
I don't know what machine you have, what the setings are, and what mask you're using.
My first suggestion is to try disabling the ramp.
My second suggestion to to blow your nose and completely clear your sinuses immediately before putting on the mask and powering up the machine.

Re: stuffiness at night
The setting of 3 is a middle of the road setting for humidity.
You may need more humidity or you may need less humidity.....and that's if the congestion you are having is related to the humidity itself.
Something that you will just need to play with to figure out what it is that makes your nasal mucosa happy.
If going by the odds...more people will lean towards more humidity than less humidity (according to an informal poll that I did a while back).
It is getting to be full blown allergy season though in some areas so your increased stuffiness might also be related to allergies.

The removing the mask and not remembering it...we've all done that and it's not an issue unless you start making a habit of it.

Re: stuffiness at night
I turned the humidifier down to 1 and slept better. I will suspect that the stuffiness is caused by a small alergic reaction to pollen. Last night I was fine at bedtime and then I put my mask on and within 5 minutes of doing that I felt a sneeze coming... I could not suppress it and ripped the mask off just in time.... After that, naturally I was stuffy again, but the dryer air from the machine seemed to clear me up. Will keep the humidity low although I wake up during the night feeling very dry.
