Re: Repeated spo2 plunges with sleep onset
None of your SpO2 graphs show anything below 90%, and if it's in the high 80's for very brief periods of time, it's possible it's just an artifact/loss of good contact from the finger probe. Would need to see an SpO2 graph with dips into the 80's to say much more.

Re: Hypopnea Increased after lowering EPR?
Higher EPR blows off more CO2 though, because it mimics bi-level pressure support. Did your doctor mention and discuss your CO2 levels with you? Or did you just look at the results yourself. Need some more information here.

Re: Anyone using a sleep oximeter?
Contec CMS50F is pretty good, they can be found on eBay for about $70 new. I have one and don't use it all that often, wouldn't say they are a gimmick, but not really sure it's a necessary item to have when dealing with OSA and not some type of pulmonary issue.

Re: Doctor percribed a med but im AFRAID to take it.
You may not have a terrible experience. I was deathly afraid of Ativan/Lorazepam when prescribed, as I thought it would depress my breathing and I would die or something. Turns out that at the dosage prescribed, it just has a bit of a "chill the fuck out" effect on my nervous system, and works quite...

Climateline tubing - still getting moisture?
My room temp is about 72-73 according to a thermometer and humidity is in the normal range. Tube settings I haven't adjusted, so it reads auto and 81*F. Do I need to crank up the hose heat or something?
Not a ton of water build up, but still enough to be annoying.

Re: What's the best (easiest) way to clean your PAP mask + supplies?
Every weekend I just fill the sink with warm, soapy water and clean the mask and humidifier chamber. Mask wipes once in a while during the week if I see any gunk inside the cushion from mouth breathing.

In need of ResScan - not through crapnea board
Banned on apnea board and can't log in either. In need of ResScan because it's the only thing this Astral 150 ventilator I am trying out can use. Can someone PM me? Thanks

Re: Doctor percribed a med but im AFRAID to take it.
Ambien can give you crazy nightmares and make people sleep walk, drive etc without even remembering. I'd avoid it unless supervised while sleeping, or if nothing else works. Not a first choice go to medicine IMHO. You are correct to be concerned about Ambien. God I hate that stuff. Sorry if this is...

Why not ask about something non habit forming such as Trazadone? Ambien can give you crazy nightmares and make people sleep walk, drive etc without even remembering. I'd avoid it unless supervised while sleeping, or if nothing else works. Not a first choice go to medicine IMHO.

Re: OSA Risk Factor for Severe COVID-19 & Hospitalization
I can only imagine if you are hemodynamically unstable due to COVID-19, having OSA just makes it worse. The one "benefit" is that the patient would already be used to CPAP, so if it's needed for oxygenation purposes, it wouldn't be much of a learning curve.

Re: Opinion on sleep SpO2 levels
You need an in-lab sleepy study that monitors both oxygen saturation and carbon dioxide levels. You probably have some sort of sleep-disordered breathing, based on your SpO2 chart, and it's something you should show your doctor(s). The chart just shows a problem, it can't tell us what it is.
