Re: How long for Auto-off to turn CPAP off?
I had all kinds of frustrations when I 1st started CPAP almost 3 years ago; from a doctor who didn't seem to know anything about my machine to a supplier on the other side of the country who was only interested in sending more "stuff" that they could charge to Medicare. Then at Pugsy's suggestion (&...

Re: How long for Auto-off to turn CPAP off?
Happens sometimes with the Respironics machines when people are more shallow breathers especially with full face masks. Next time try 3 or 4 big deep breaths and see if that will trigger it. If it still doesn't want to work properly it might be having a sensor issue where it just can't sense your b...

Re: How long for Auto-off to turn CPAP off?
Auto-off not working is not a big deal. It's easy enough to simply manually turn CPAP off, but last night Auto-ON wouldn't work. It wouldn't turn ON . . . yes, Auto-on IS turned on. My pressure range is 10-20, 90% is usually 11-12.

How long for Auto-off to turn CPAP off?
A couple of nights ago I turned on Auto-on and Auto-off for the 1st time. Auto-on works fine. I put my mask on & 3-4 seconds later machine is blowing & I feel the air. But when I wake up in the morning & take the mask off, it doesn't turn off. So I manually turn it off. Seems like a heck of a "Large...

Re: My cat turned my CPAP off
Do you have "Auto On" turned on? Seems strange to me that the machine didn't auto-start from your breathing into your mask. Check your machine settings and see. Den I've never used "Auto On". I saw that feature months ago when I was poking around trying to learn how things worked. At the time a pow...

My cat turned my CPAP off
To my surprise, my CPAP was turned off when I woke up during the night last night to go to the bathroom. SleepyHead confirms that it was off for almost 1h 30m. All I can think is that my cat must have turned it off as she was climbing up on my bed. I have a box that I use for a cover to prevent her ...

Heated Tube/Humidifier Confusion
I'm confused. I have no idea if/how this might affect my CPAP's usefulness. I got my CPAP on 5-5-15. I just discovered/noticed today that SleepyHead's Machine Settings shows 5-5-15 thru 7-7-15 . . ."Heated Tube = NO" and "Humidifier Status = Connected". That was/is correct. I did not have a heated t...

Re: My CPAP stopped transmitting
I emailed DreamMapper support & they replied that they were having " a temporary interruption with our modem data service ". BIG help! But at least I know that it's not MY machine. Wulfman . . . I use DreamMapper because it's more convenient (for me) to quickly get basic numbers. There's no question...

Re: Changes To CPAPtalk Operating and Moderation Practices
Thanks! I've gotten very useful info here, but have stayed away completely for 7-8 months because some seemed highly offended that I didn't ask the questions that they wanted to hear or answer. Told me such things as STFU.

I had problems with mouth breathing. I use a full face mask, but still got dry sore throat regularly. A cervical collar has worked for me.

My CPAP stopped transmitting
My sleep apnea is mild & with my CPAP I rarely have problems. However, every morning, I force transmission by pressing the button on my machine and check my numbers, via DreamMapper on my phone. I know SleepyHead tracks things much more in detail. My DreamMapper & SleepyHead "overall numbers" have a...

Re: Best tips that you received from this board?
The best advice (by far) that I've gotten was that I could change my pressure settings, even tho' my doctor had told me otherwise. I did that 18 months ago and it has been pretty much smooth sailing since.
Suggestion to use a cervical collar also help tremendously.

Re: Asking a huge favour!
I don't understand the problem. I thought the goal was to lower AHI as much as possible. In fact, my doctor & various other sources, have indicated that less than 5 was considered "no sleep apnea". My highest AHI since 1/1/17 was 2.5 and average is 0.9. Once it was even 0.0. I continue to use cpap b...

What triggers automatic transmission?
I have a Philips REMstar System One 560 series Auto Aflex. Usually daily, just out of curiosity, I "check my CPAP numbers" via my SleepMapper app on my phone. After all, I'm on the phone frequently all day long & it just takes a tap. Obviously, that gives very little info, but I figure it might aler...

Re: Extracting Snippet of Data from Sleepyhead
Thanks, Jay & Linuxman, for you input. You are right. There's just not enough info to draw firm conclusions. But I just had to look for myself. I must admit (at the risk of provoking "assaults" from some) I don't import into SH frequently. I enter transmitted data into a spreadsheet and compute aver...
