Re: Aging & Changing Sleep Patterns
Chris, I am approaching 70 and find I can't sleep as long as I used to. I also do tend to doze off when watching TV which isn't the most exciting (golf). I have some suggestions for you to consider. Auto Ramp The name of this feature is misleading, as it really is not a ramp like the previous models...

Re: AirCurve VAuto query (now gone)
I don't think that machine does anything for centrals. That gets into the controversial stuff. My view on that is that EPR which is like a lightweight BiPAP effect does provide some help in addressing centrals. Centrals are when the body just gives less and less of a signal to inhale and exhale, un...

Re: Descaling humidifier using lemon? Tips please!
As I mentioned before, I use vinegar just because it is handy and I don't notice the smell. We buy it by the gallons at Costco, cheap. My sleep tech also recommended it for use on the hose and mask, and said it would also act as a disinfectant. However if you smell it, at least for cleaning the rese...

Re: Tried Out Dreamstation On 12V
When we use our trailer without power we depend on two 6 volt golf cart batteries as well. I have found with a ResMed S9 and no humidifier, we can do a long weekend without any AC power. However sometimes we camp longer, and I have added a 70 watt solar panel. It keeps up and we can go on indefinite...

Re: AirCurve VAuto query (now gone)
1) Where does the ResMed AirCurve VAuto fit in the continuum of ResMed 10 series machines? From what I know of it, the machine is a definite step up from the standard AirSense 10 AutSet. It has bilevel pressure control, and some features to fine tune the triggering of bilevel support. I have issues...

I'll buy a new one tomorrow. They're cheap. Here is what ResMed say about the card requirements. I suspect the IEC 60601-1 requirement is to convince you that you have to buy their card. The other requirements are probably valid. My AirSense 10 came with a 4 GB card. After a week or so, it has abou...

It needs to see the loss of flow for a minimum of 10 seconds.DankShroud wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 3:31 pmBut I'm having obstructive events where the CPAP doesn't identify the obstructive apnea and only detects the following sleep/wake/junk central apnea.

Some nights I pour the bottled water through my filter jug. Other times I forget! Would filtering the bottled water help or is it just as good to just filter tap water? Unless it is a special filter that demineralizes the water, there is no point in filtering bottled water or tap water. I would use...

Re: Travel with Resmed S9?
Although you have to check this to be sure, I'd be very surprised if any CPAP machine (except a very old one) would have any issue with the fact that the voltage in the UK is double that of the US. However, the sockets have a different configuration, so you will need an adapter. Also, especially if...

Re: How to get rid of centrals
So I need more pressure? How am I supposed to get rid of these!! Pressure does not do anything for CA's because the airway is not blocked. You machine will not attempt to increase pressure to address them for that reason. That daily chart you posted shows no OA's. What you could do is reduce pressu...

I use straight vinegar, and save my lemons for drinks. If you can't get demineralized water, distilled water, or reverse osmosis purified water, you are probably best just to use tap water. If you use tap water just dump out the residual water daily, rinse it out, and fill with fresh tap water.
