Clearly, it can not directly treat such a condition.
However, if Sleep Apnea or UARS is present, you need to treat that. Also, if this is the case, treating these conditions could relieve swelling and inflamation in that area.

Re: Received my PR DreamStation replacement today
Hadn't used my DreamStation for over 6-years. Finally decided I would send for the replacement. Thought I would be getting a DreamStation 2, but it is just another DreamStation. Think it's probably refurbished as there are scratches on the screen. Doesn't much matter as it is in the closet with the...

Re: CPAP usage
First of all, you might have a cold or flu. This will pass.
Also, you might have a sinus infection. In that case you will need an anti-biotic, and you'll need to clean your machine more diligently.
Also, you might need an adjustment to your pressure.

People with severe sleep apnea under 50 can expect to live between eight to 18 years if they receive treatment with oral
I started CPAP in 1999 and was 43 years old at the time. According to this I should not have lived past 2017! It's towards the bottom of the article. Link ===> https://toothopiadental.com/what-is-the-life-expectancy-of-someone-with-sleep-apnea/ Actually, I think that well treated sleep apnea should ...

Re: Received my PR DreamStation replacement today
I believe that there will be some sort of certification/remediation/remanufacture tag affixed to the machine. I'm not certain of this as I received a DreamStation 2 machine as a replacement. If anybody has this on his/her machine, please photograph it and attach it. If the certification is there, it...

Re: Trump falling asleep in court
Donald who? Never heard of the guy. Everyone but the judge and the jury and the journalists (and maybe security, I guess) has the right to sleep in court any time he or she wants to. And I believe the politically correct term for it is "resting my eyes." Much of courtroom procedure ranks right up t...

OT.....Trump falling asleep in court
First of all, please keep partisanship and politics out of this thread. It's not about that. Multiple reports say that Donald Trump is falling asleep in court; sometimes for up to fifteen minutes at a time. We should be questioning whether he has a sleep disorder, such as Sleep Apnea or Narcolepsy. ...

Sleep apnea patients can breathe easy about CPAP therapy, computer simulations suggest
This is good news. This study concluded that increased pressure can not cause damage to various parts of the respiratory tract, as some might have feared. In fact, some variation of CPAP that is used in premature infants is also safe! Link ===> https://medicalxpress.com/news/2024-05-apnea-patients-e...

Re: Do I need to turn off EPR and go CPAP?
Best as I can tell, EPR is a matter of personal preference. I've been using CPAP since 1999. I find it very annoying, as if the machine was breathing for me. I know that's no literally happening, but is ure feels like it.

Re: How to prevent rain out with external humdifier?
I don't recommend spending US$250 for a stand-alone humidifier. Besides, I don't think that one supports a heated hose. When I took my first overnight sleep test in 1999, they did use a stand-alone humidifier (it was an F&P and looked just like that one). They used a very long hose that send though ...

Re: CPAP machine says I only use it for 2-3 hours when I'm working graveyard shifts?
Yes, the last poster got it right. Based on most people's sleep/wake pattern, each day begins at "noon." To prove this is the problem look back. I think you'll find a more normal number of hours for past days. However, if your sleep pattern is very irregular, you might find short hours on some days ...

Re: Inspire advertising is Anti-CPAP advertising!
I agree they are playing to an audience of people who don't like the idea of CPAP in the first place, and using that to sell their product, which is expensive, invasive, and not the best treatment for everyone. That's how commercialism and capitalism work. But the implication that Inspire is inhere...

Inspire advertising is Anti-CPAP advertising!
The Inspire commercials on TV are showing patients completely unable to use CPAP and that they should use Inspire instead. Admittedly, some people just can't use CPAP or legitimately prefer to try something else. However, CPAP is presented as something very scary, and can be very intimidating to new...
