SD Card and Sleepyhead

Post by Scluvsrain » Thu Apr 12, 2018 8:22 pm

I was able to download Sleepyhead onto my Macbook Air. And, Apria sent me a SD card (it says ResMed on it) and I've placed it into my CPAP machine. So, I'm ready to have it start recording my nights. Excited!

However, dumb question - Sleepyhead warns to write-protect my SD card. I understand what that means, but I just want to make sure that I leave the SD card in unlock when it's in my CPAP and then when I put it in my laptop, I lock it, and then unlock it again when returning it to the CPAP, right?

I've been on CPAP for about 10 days so far and doing pretty well, I think. My AHIs are showing a 0.2 as a low and a max of 2.2, with an overall average of around 1 per night, on myAir app. I've adjusted to the nasal mask and got myself one of those bed buddy hang dealies so the hose stays out of my way, as I'm a side to side sleeper. The nasal mask sometimes hurts my face a little, kind of like I feel bruised, and I'm interested in trying out the P10 nasal pillow, but am having a little hassle with Kaiser in getting my "prescription", as I've learned I need one in order to buy another mask. That came as quite a surprise. When the sleep center doctor ordered my equipment, the provider just sent it all. Anyway, I'm sure I can get that all straightened out in due time.

I'm anxious to confirm what the myAir app is telling me, by seeing what Sleepyhead says. I know very little about my sleep study, I don't even have a copy of the last sleep study report. The 26 AHI was from my first sleep study over a year ago.

I'm sure I'm going to need some more help in understanding my Sleepyhead reports, so after I gather a few days of data, I'll run the reports and get started.

I've learned a lot in the past week or so reading this forum. Glad you're here!!

The write protect thing mainly was for Resmed S9 users because some operating systems put a little text file on that SD card that the S9 machines didn't like.

The AirSense 10 machine...don't care about that little text file if your operating system happens to put something on that SD card.

I never write protect my SD card and I have an operating system that does indeed put that little text file on my SD card.
When I was using the S9...it did cause a problem if I forgot to write protect the card before putting it in the computer.
I am using the AirSense 10 now...no problem.

But if you wish to write protect it anyway...write protect it when in your MacBook/computer.
In the AirSense 10 machine the card has to be unlocked or else the cpap machine can't put data on the card.
