Marks

Post by FaethSilverwolf » Fri Apr 13, 2018 5:59 pm

I'm still fairly new to Cpap I got mine in January. I've spent months trying to find the sweet spot on the mask so it doesn't leak at all no matter what position I lay in. The down side to having found the sweet spot is that it leaves lines on my face even though I sleep on my back. Can someone please give idea's for how to get rid of the marks on my face plz. As the marks last for hours after I take off the mask. Thank you ahead of time for your suggestions.

If it is the straps leaving marks, check out the pad straps from Padacheek.com. If it is the mask cushion leaving marks, check out the mask liners at Padacheek. Karen is a member of this forum and will work with you to solve your problems.

Also, ice wiped over marks can help them leave more quickly, and be sure you're not otherwise overtightening straps to stop leaks. There are other ways (like liners from Padacheek.com), but the mask should be close to floating vs smashed on or it can't do it's job... try others if you need to, and check proper fitting for each.

I sometimes get a pressure sore on the bridge of my nose. I will soon be trying out a Gecko gel pad.

When I had that problem, I use moleskin on my nose. You can find it at your local drug store in the foot care area. If you decide to use it regularly, you can find it in long rolls on the internet. The first RT I worked with told me about it. She said her husband used it on his nose every night to prevent sores. I did that for several months when I was using the Simplus mask. With the F20, I don't need to use it, but I have kept some on hand in case I ever need it again.

I have marks on my face in the morning. I use lotions to keep them from drying out. Most of the time I live with it. Sometime in the morning they go away.

Do some research on "Sleep Wrinkles." Some of those ideas may help.
