Re: Something's gone wrong.
soap & water and a water soak is recommended for the elastic headgear IIRC. A am not sure if vinegar would damage the removable elastic headgear. No more than it would damage any other fabric that was soaked in vinegar. Hot water wash for headgear to shrink it is recommended, I know plenty of folks...

Re: Options to buy a second machine?
Aside from Craigslist, you may check various Facebook marketplace pages. This is where I found my backup S9 AutoSet for Her (identical to my primary machine, but <500hrs) for $60. Best believe I jumped on that deal in hurry!

(I've come to believe he also had undiagnosed ADHD, Are you aware that there's a growing idea that many cases of ADHD are actually undiagnosed cases of SDB? So, his ADHD symptoms fit his undiagnosed sleep apnea. It's very possible. He continued taking Ritalin for several years after being diagnosed...

Re: New nasal pillow problems
Any advice about the sore nostrils? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Lanolin. Pure lanolin, used by nursing mothers everywhere for sore nipples. Just a tiny tiny dab (as if applying chapstick) around the nares before you put on the mask will help prevent the chafing. Your nose may still be sore f...

Re: What if they didn't diagnose Sleep Apnea?
I firmly believe that misdiagnosis shortened my father's life considerably. Born in 1942, he had shown signs of sleep apnea since the early 1970's but was misdiagnosed as narcoleptic and put on Ritalin for almost two decades, which did nothing for his snoring, or his fatigue, but helped him muddle t...

Re: Mold in the Water in Machine
A splash of vodka works wonders. (After a good scrubbing, of course.) Swish it around until it gets everywhere, dump the excess, and air dry. Don't forget a little taste for the "cook". I have a water bottle I use for work, where we have a big brand name filter system for our drinking wat...

Re: Mold in the Water in Machine
Have you ever actually *scrubbed* it? Or just rinsed it with water and vinegar? I have had to wipe out reservoirs with Qtips (the system One tanks are awful for this) to get the pink slime out of the corners, even when using distilled pretty religiously. It may be time for a WEAK bleach solution and...

Re: Air fit p10
I had very similar issues when I started with my cpap and P10 mask. Just a little extra TLC until your nose becomes acclimated to the constant contact of the mask and you should be fine. I won't lie, it was painful for a couple days, but pushing through it and sticking with CPAP made it well worth t...

Well of course! (He goes in the *walk-in* closet!)chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Thu Apr 19, 2018 8:37 amOne only needs two sets of linen for each bed--one on the bed and one in the wash.
If you are lucky enough to have a linen closet, there are better things to put in it.

Re: Checking AHI when I don't sleep thru the night
If its any consolation: Yesterday I wound up staying for a double shift at work (I'm a CNA), so I got home at 2215 and had to get to bed so I could get up for my regular day shift today -- alarm goes off at 0415. I woke up at 0245 instead, kept the machine on until I dozed back off at 0345, and awok...

Two questions: 1) do you ever *wash* the reservoir? And 2) do you have a filter on the blower unit?

Re: Question for oxygen users
As I mentioned before, when traveling longer distances it behooves you to contact a local DME (or a branch of a nationwide DME that you already have dealings with) about short term rental. My father traveled cross-country on several occasions and made arrangements with his DME (Lincare, though I kno...

Re: Question for oxygen users
My father would have to notify the airlines so he could carry his tank, and he would get in touch with a DME at his destination to set up delivery of tanks/rental concentrator. Talk to the DME that supplied your concentrator, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
