Maybe you were dreaming about stopping breathing and that the machine did nothing. I guess that would be a nightmare not a dream. My mind plays weird tricks on me like that in the semi conscious state.

The craziest dreams I've had are when you dream that you have woken up and then later you actually wake up for real and realize that you were still in a dream. Reminds me of that movie. What is it? Inception; that's it.

Rare, but fun are the ones where you know your dreaming and can control them to some extent.

Why are you not raising your min. pressure (so low) as advised? That should help with arousals and you'll know then if anything else might be a problem or if things are 'solved'.
I have been hesitant on adjusting it in the past, I was advised by my DME sleep therapist not to adjust the settings. He hammered that into me lol. I'm guessing just for my own protection if I didn't know what I was doing.

However, last night I raised my min pressure from 5-20 to 7-20.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with the physicians assistant in the sleep center, hopefully, we can dial this in further, maybe get another sleep study.

Many people in the sleep industry and controlling wannabe demigods...

There's absolutely no good reason to avoid changing your own treatment pressures if you've learned a little about how and why.

5-20 is darn near factory defaults (4-20) and is suitable for almost nobody.

This happens to me... especially when I drift off to sleep... I'll hear myself "snore". I asked my girlfriend and she swears I was not in fact snoring (and I made sure she new the true answer was important). Suffice it to say, I think it may be some form of Sleep PTSD.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

Hi,
One problem I experienced with wide open pressure settings relates to leaks. A small mask leak can trigger the machine to go up in pressure...thus creating a positive feedback loop ending in full top pressure. This of course will wake you up.

So indeed, get those pressures narrowed so that the machine can actually do what it's suppose to do.
Good luck,
CN

On a side note:
Last night I woke up, bad dreams as usual, never good dreams. But last night, I woke up, I was in between sleep and awake, well, I was totally awake, but I could fall back to sleep at any second if I wanted to.
The weirdest thing was happening to me in this semi-sleep state, I would stop breathing.... and then I would realize I was not breathing and start again, the CPAP didn't do anything, just me realizing I wasn't breathing would start me breathing again.
It wasn't an obstruction in my airway at all, I would just stop taking breaths. Maybe its all in my head, has anyone else experienced this?

I have attached an imgur link to my CPAP data report here: https://imgur.com/a/9KgXJyQ

I was unable to upload the pictures to the forum directly as they were too big and was giving errors. I will try more later.
I will ask my doctor on Friday if I can increase my auto-titration settings up from 5-20 to maybe something like 7-20? or 7-15?

Thank you soo much for your guy's feedback! This is a life saver.

HI! I'm new to this forum and not sure how to use it, so I'm sorry if this comes through wonky. I too stop breathing and I am aware/awake and the CPAP doesn't prevent it. This happens to me often. Did you ever get answer to this or has it resolved? It is very scary when it happens and prevents me from sleeping.

Thank you so much,
Tammy

Tammy, you managed to attach your note to someone else's, with no info on you or equipment, etc. Please start over in a new thread/topic and give info on what model of which machine you have, what mask, what settings, etc. etc.
