Aaaaand again: newbie struggles topic
Hi I have been diagnosed July 2017 but have been on therapy on and off since Feb 2018. And I can't understand what's wrong. I have tried 2 masks - first
ComfortGel Blue Full Face and then DreamWear Nasal. I didn't have software until some days ago. I only new therapy is not working. I tried again last night the full face and statistics don't look good to me also.
Please help me figure out what is the problem. I am a side sleeper and masks are really bothering me, I fall asleep hard, wake up too often, go to WC often but still not sure whether while I am asleep, CPAP therapy is working. It is really overwhelming.
Let me know if I should snip other info from statistics.
Thank you all in advance!

We need to know the settings you have and see the graphs that show what is going on.
Also, can you tell us what problems you feel you are having? Then we can help with better advice.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

My settings are 4-14 cmH2O.
I feel very tired. Exhausted, to be more specific. Very nervous and irritated and basically depressed.
I read the necessary graphs to show but I didn't find anywhere how to show one if it's missing. I am attaching the view I have now.

Your minimum pressure is very low, It is possible that you are feeling like you aren't getting enough air. My suggestion would be to raise your minimum pressure to 6. I noticed that when your pressure drops down to 4-5 you start having hypopneas. I am sure more knowledgeable people will be along shortly.

Re: Aaaaand again: newbie struggles topic
It is easy to see why you feel poorly.
As gwc says, you need to increase your minimum pressure. Start with 6 and then reevaluate after a few days.

Thank you both. Will do this night for sure. And will use my nasal mask, because the full face one is making my nose really sore.
Hope to get the good results finally.

You can use moleskin to protect your nose when using your full face mask.

I had similar problems with the Wisp mask. Discovered that plastic type masks caused irritation. I switched to a Circadiance soft cloth mask and have been using them for nearly five years. I too am a side sleeper and move around a lot.
Re: Aaaaand again: newbie struggles topic
How is the leak? I hear for the first time for cloth masks. Sounds soft and much more comfortable.
Last days I have a really sore neck (and because of that - awful headache) from trying to keep my head so that the pillow doesn't press the mask and it doesn't leak.
Can't remember when I felt good for last time actually

Sleepweaver cloth cpap masks, by Circadiance.
Tricky to adjust and wear, but if you can master "the dance"--pure heaven!

Here are the last 2 days:
- Sunday https://imgur.com/a/EFloIP2
- Monday https://imgur.com/a/ga8KE9l
The statistics look good, but still I don't feel rested.
Last night I woke up after 4 and couldn't sleep much after. Turned off the CPAP around 5 but still no sleep. What am I doing wrong?!
P.S. Could you tell me how to show the other charts - Flow Rate, Snore & Flow Limit? And also get all other statistics on the left? Like here https://imgur.com/a/sAGQbss

With your min pressure set to 6, your data looks good. Give it some time (a few weeks) to see if you feel better.

I think the stuff is missing because your machine doesn't do all those other graphs that the other brands of machines do.nova4e wrote: ↑Mon Apr 23, 2018 9:01 pmCould you tell me how to show the other charts - Flow Rate, Snore & Flow Limit? SleepyHead can only report whatever data your machine gathers and the Icon data isn't as comprehensive as the other brands.
The SA on the Icon is SenseAwake...the machine thinks you woke up several times...and you mention waking up and not being able to go back to sleep.
So how many hours of real sleep and not just having the machine on do you think you might be doing?
There's so much more to feeling rested than just getting nice low numbers.
Getting the nice low numbers is the easy part.
Do you take any medications of any kind, if so, what?
How many hours of actual sleep?
Are those hours of real sleep fragmented by very many wake ups? If so, any idea why.
How often do you wake and not be able to go to sleep?
Any other physical or mental health issues going on?

Re: Aaaaand again: newbie struggles topic
Yes, totally agree. It is not just the numbers because there's so much more behind them.
I really don't know how much sleep I get. I do have light sleep though. Many times I turn, I am not actually sleeping, because I try to get the mask set so that it is not pressed to my nose, neither away and leaking. I get the hose positioned so that it is not pressed. And this gets me out of the deep sleep. And next is the mental part - because I am "rushing" to fall asleep again and not waste any more time, but I actually don't succeed, I get frustrated. Then often I need to go to WC. (By the way when you go to WC, do you usually turn of the CPAP machine, or just unplug the hose and leave it to leak?). Then my daughter would sleep-talk or something else ... You get the picture And this is several times each night. I intentionally don't watch the clock on each wake, only sometimes when I go to WC.
Other than that I have Hashimoto's and I take Eutirox daily. No other physical or mental health issues.
