Cleaning a mask before selling?
Cleaning a mask before selling?
I have two masks - Mirage Liberty with nose pillows and Amara View - that I need to send to a new home. I've given both a good honest chance, but neither do well for me.
How should I clean these before I offer them to another person? If you were looking at "a slightly used mask for sale", what would you want to see that would make you feel comfortable putting this on your face after it's been on mine? Or would you just presume that the previous owner would never do a good enough job, and you are going to decontaminate and resanitize anyway?

Re: Cleaning a mask before selling?
I prefer to do my own cleaning. It's not so much that I don't trust someone else to do a good job it's just I know what makes me more comfortable.
When I send stuff out that has been donated I just tell people to go ahead and clean per their own routine because it gives peace of mind and I don't take it that someone doesn't trust my cleaning.
I have loaned masks out....people use them and send them back...and they tell me they are going to do all this elaborate stuff to clean/sanitize it...and I tell them don't bother. I just feel better doing whatever it is that makes me comfortable with it.
So just do a good ordinary common sense hot soapy water cleaning and dry it well and leave it at that.
Most likely people are going to want to do their own thing anyway.

Just post the price you are asking. I think anyone buying a used mask will disinfect it before use, regardless of what the seller says.

Clean to remove stains and visible soil.
The new owner will then do whatever makes them comfortable.
It is a personal thing . . .

how much for the Amara View, and what size
Re: Cleaning a mask before selling?
Okay - I got it.
Clean as I would.
And let the receiver clean as they would.
Makes sense. :8>)

If I bought a mask used, I would clean it upon receipt regardless of whatever was done prior to receiving it.

Re: Cleaning a mask before selling?
I would want it washed in warm soapy water and dried before sending to me. I don't want to open a package in my home that has someone else's biofilm.
I would wash it again as soon as received.
