All of my machines were used... well, ok, I think one was new (but I bought it off craigslist)Missingstexas wrote: ↑Fri May 25, 2018 3:43 pmSo is a used machine safe? I don't know much about this stuff...
Money isn't the issue here, it's my lack of knowledge relating to this. I do want to try a different machine and new mask, but I don't know where to start.
The manufacturers procedures for cleaning a machine before giving to a new patient is "change the filters and wipe down the outside".
Perfectly safe.

Your *best bet* is a resmed airsense 10 autoset for her. second best bet would be a resmed airsense 10 autoset.

Re: Not sure what to do next
Because it has 3 modes of operation and the regular AutoSet has only 2 modes of operation.
You may or may not need/like/want/use that special auto algorithm but you might and it's always better to have something and not need it than need it and not have it.
3 modes..
fixed cpap mode
regular auto (apap) adjusting mode
special different auto adjusting mode with a different algorithm...this is the extra mode
so it's like 3 machines in one.
Don't let the "for her" thing make you think a guy wouldn't find a use for that special algorithm. I am using it right now and there's no reason in the world that a guy might not also find a use for it.

Also if you're picky about the flowers on the front face plate you can buy different ones to replace it ... You do tho use the machine in the dark while sleeping so it's really no big deal, but some people ... hah .. That machine is worth it for all the modes ..Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri May 25, 2018 8:47 pmBecause it has 3 modes of operation and the regular AutoSet has only 2 modes of operation.

If you want to read up on what the ResMed AirSense 10 machines would do you can get this clinical manual.
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf
It's a combo manual so it covers all the AirSense 10 models but you can easily see which model does what.
