Re: Which mask to ask for?
Knew you couldn't leave that alone. Yes it is. Give it a rest. Your opinion is noted. But if you truly want to control what other people post, you should go become a moderator on apneaboard. I know you don't like me, because I point out the fallacy of your defense of soclean, but that doesn't make ...

Re: Which mask to ask for?
Seriously? Good thing to keep in mind when evaluating your 'advice' to people. Really? You are trying to use my forthright mea culpa to attack me? Your inattention and not even knowing, or apparently, caring what board you are posting on speaks volumes towards your credibility. Pointing that out is...

Re: Which mask to ask for?
Apap machines can also be set to a plain Cpap mode, but Cpap machines won't do Apap, so it makes sense to get an auto and have the set pressure option (as most people do these days). Another thing is that a lot of people write in saying they feel congested, but also that they're using the humidifie...

Re: Dry mouth and about to give up
Welcome to the forum Emerald Ice, Sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it. You are not alone. Dry mouth is usually caused by mouth breathing and sometimes meds, and adjusting the machine humidity won't touch it because the machine humidity is meant to moisturize your nasal passages, not the r...

Re: Reoccurring issues with the blower
Oh and one more thing I would like to add. My dh is so restless these days. It seems like he has a restless leg syndrome. Again it keeps us awake of course. Has anyone else experienced this in conjunction with using the CPAP? We are really trying to push through this time for him to finally get use...

Re: Would like info on VirtuClean CPAP cleaner
There is nothing to sanitize on or in the machine. Nothing. And in any case, what would be the point? Your room air is not sanitized, nor is anything you bring to your end of the machine (mask, etc). What a waste of time... at best a placebo effect that makes you feel you're doing something useful,...

Re: Really struggling with CPAP, feel much worse than before getting machine
Hi Darth_Rita, Sorry to hear you are struggling! Sounds like that first night was miserable. Pugsy is one of the best and brightest, so you're in luck. Follow her advice. Many of us had issues with our mask, the rude noises are a fit issue, but there is a huge variety of them available and members o...

Re: Would like info on VirtuClean CPAP cleaner
I recently asked my DME about the SClean CPAP cleaner as I was skeptical over whether it really works or not. He said that it does but he recommends the VirtuClean device instead. If you have a VirtuClean can you provide any feedback on your experience with using this device to clean both the Mask,...

Re: Quick Student Research Group Survey
FYI: I gave it a try. It was a straight forward and super quick survey. A google search showed this is a legit educational program. The link is listed on other CPAP forums. None of my virus software (Norton Security) went off. I"m not associated with the authors, so I can't say anything more than th...

Re: Past 2 nights waking with migraine headache - help. :(
Sorry you're in pain. I've had migraines for 36 years, my entire adult life. My guess is your trigger isn't the mask liner. Lack of stress (or the period after stress) can be a trigger. If you're not waking to go to the bathroom, you are sleeping better, which is less stress on your body. That's my ...

Re: CDC:80,000 people died of flu last winter in US
I got mine Tuesday. According to the RN, any time now is fine, the earlier in the flu season the better. Last year I didn't get the flu, but I did catch a nasty virus. I was coughing so hard I couldn't wear my full face mask for fear of throwing up in it. This year I am prepared with a Nasal Pillow ...

Re: Reoccurring issues with the blower
Thanks a lot and that is good to know. I usually cover the light. :D Our engineers told us under no circumstance to put the machine on the floor. I didn't think it would be a problem so will try it as well. The concern with the floor is the carpet according to page 7 of your user's manual. I'd say ...

Re: OT: Wild Animals
I have to side with the others here: Don't feed them. We had a neighbor who used to feed "cute" raccoons. Then the neighbor moved away. Now I have raccoons searching for food in our backyard in the middle of the day. We have a 6 foot fence which they easily scale. Raccoons can carry rabies and can e...
