Re: Airport security and CPAP unit

I was completely unaware of whatever the TSA expected and it's not well posted in the airport if at all. I took a quick flight home from Houston to New Orleans. Now I heard that my machine was allowed as a carry on. I stuffed it in its case in my backpack to avoid caring more than one thing. Well, a...

Re: Increased bathroom usage and sleep apnea

I had frequent urination that actually started a year or two before I started treatment. It continued and lessened after I began treatment and now, almost 4 years in, I don't normally wake to go to the bathroom.

At first I thought I was starting early with the prostate issues.

Re: Does cpap therapy help with depression?

I haven't seen any improvement. Your mileage may vary. There's a lot of sources of stress right now, though, so therapy can only do so much, I suppose.

Re: When will I feel rested?

The gap is where I woke up, got my son dressed, and took him to daycare (again, the time in the data is wrong. I took the mask off at about 7 or 7:30, not 4am.) I went back to sleep around 10:30 am and slept to about 3. The unclassified apnea seems to happen early on. I remember having a lot of diff...

Re: When will I feel rested?

Back. Slept about another 4 1/2 hours. That's a total of 12 1/2 total hours today. So, NOW I feel great. Very rested. But as I've been told I shouldn't need this much sleep. But I, myself, very much DO feel I need this much. The first seven-ish hours on the left were from about 11:30pm to about 7am ...

When will I feel rested?

What's the next step? If my AHI is less than 1 and I sleep at least 6 to 8hrs each night and have used my machine faithfully for 4 years and I still feel exhausted all the time, what's the next step? I'm tired of not feeling rested. I wish I could sleep 12 hrs straight like I used to. I've reached t...

Re: Bad night for leaks!

Side sleeper here. I feel like my masks leak when I'm on my back. The air rushing out from the corner of my mouth/cheek area sometimes wakes me. Sometimes it doesn't apparently.

Re: Has PAP therapy helped anyone with night terrors?

I completely stopped dreaming when I started using my machine. I miss those dreams.

I guess night terrors aren't really the same thing.

Re: Maybe I'm not getting ENOUGH sleep.

The only time I feel rested even with treatment is when I get around 10 or more hours. When you say fragmented sleep, what are we talking about here? I'm aware that I change positions often to relieve back pain. Lying down for a couple hours makes my spine ache. Pain became much worse after starting...

Maybe I'm not getting ENOUGH sleep.

I've been trying to unravel why I have never felt any sleep quality improvement, and I've been thinking. So I started therapy (BiPAP) about a week before my son (who is now about 3 1/2) was born. My wife and I used to sleep at least 10 hours when possible before this. Daughter (who is now 14) was ho...

Re: Does the perfect mask exist?

I haven't been satisfied with anything I've tried so far. Everything leaks when I fall asleep. No leaks when I'm awake.

Re: New guy here. Why did they discourage a FF?

Do I need a new prescription to change mask types?

I was thinking of trying out a nasal mask or whatever that snorkel looking dream wear thing was called since I can't find a full face mask that doesn't leak while I'm sleeping.

Re: Howdy! Recently diagnosed, now being treated.

My mask was incredibly painful when I first started. In fact, when I had to start wearing glasses, that also hurt my nose. Anyway, I finally found a mask whose headgear doesn't make me feel like I'm getting a pressure ulcer. It took me almost 4 years. I recently heard of people being allowed to come...

Re: Respiratory Rate Concern

Actually the VPAP S is a bilevel machine and the exhale relief in it is called Pressure Support. EPR is nothing more than creating a difference between inhale and exhale and that difference is called Pressure Support. The deal with EPR is that it is limited to 3 cm max difference...and with your bi...

Re: Lines, marks, red spots, mask marks in the morning on my face.

If the mask hurts your face, perhaps the headgear is too tight. Try not to torque it. After the fact, splash on Aqua Velva. My marks are badges of success. If anyone mentions them, you have my permission to throw water in THEIR face! It is rude to point out a person's unprettiness. Rememb...
