Anyone here use the new Resmed F20 mask...question for you
Re: Anyone here use the new Resmed F20 mask...question for you
Crazy first I have heard if this and it seems to be a pretty solid mask for it to rip...

Re: Anyone here use the new Resmed F20 mask...question for you
My wife and I have both been using the F20 mask for the past year. We have never torn a mask cushion. The silicone that goes over the nose is rather thin, and should be handled carefully. I wash the cushions every week and have never torn a cushion. What are you doing to tear them? The cushion my wife is currently using is 5 or 6 months old, and is still working just fine. The one I am using has been in use for 12 weeks. I am doing a test for Resmed and using a cushion for 13 weeks to test the durability of the mask. I will probably continue to use the mask for another 3 or 4 months before I replace it.

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.

If you're ripping your masks, you're not being careful enough with them. Stop cleaning them so much, just a little dishwashing soap and warm water every few days, or if they look grody.
Wipe the cushion with a baby wipe or something every day, just to remove facial oils.

"Well, the instructions DIDN'T say 'do not use an angle grinder on cushion'"

I just switched from an F20. Mine is over a year old and there's no rip. I just find it uncomfortable. The headgear is painful. My wife just started using a cpap tonight and has the F20. Guess I'll see.

When I was starting out, I destroyed hoses--one Slimline, and one Climateline.
Didn't know my own strength . . .
I just had to calm down a bit.

Re: Anyone here use the new Resmed F20 mask...question for you
I think a lot of the F20 problems are caused by the fitting of the mask. When I first started using mine I had major problems with the bridge of the nose. It was extremely painful. Then I had more problems with leakage. I had two attempts at persevering with it, and adjusting the straps. But gave up in the end. I went back to it and readjusted the straps and now it’s perfect I know how the fit has to be for it not to leak and also for it not to hurt my nose. It has taken me two months though to figure it all out. (Am I slow or what ) but now I wouldn’t be without it. I think it’s the best full face mask out there.
